Ratz dans le p\u00e9trin ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

L’ouverture de Ratz dans un ancien parking pr\u00e8s de la place Saint-Boniface \u00e0 Bruxelles<\/a> se voulait spectaculaire : une exp\u00e9rience immersive avec des d\u00e9corations inspir\u00e9es de l’Asie et du Moyen-Orient. Mais les r\u00e9actions destructrices n’ont pas tard\u00e9 \u00e0 affluer sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux : des internautes ont accus\u00e9 le concept de colonialisme l\u00e9ger, d’appropriation culturelle et m\u00eame de racisme. C’est surtout le choix de faire travailler du personnel non asiatique en tenue traditionnelle dans un d\u00e9cor asiatique qui a d\u00e9plu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thierry Goor, cofondateur de Ratz, s’est dit surpris par ces critiques dans une interview accord\u00e9e \u00e0 La Libre. Il qualifie les d\u00e9corations de \u00ab cin\u00e9matographiques \u00bb<\/a> et fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 des parcs tels que Pairi Daiza et \u00e0 des films aux d\u00e9cors exotiques. Il reconna\u00eet toutefois une erreur : les v\u00eatements du personnel dans la partie asiatique. \u00ab Chaque stand est ind\u00e9pendant, et je n’\u00e9tais pas au courant. Mais j’en assume la responsabilit\u00e9 : c’\u00e9tait une grave erreur. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D\u00e9bat plus large<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Le march\u00e9 alimentaire WOLF souligne quant \u00e0 lui son ind\u00e9pendance vis-\u00e0-vis de Ratz. Bien que le concept ait \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 2017 par les fr\u00e8res Paul et Michel Haelterman, en collaboration avec Pascal Van Hamme et Thierry Goor, la collaboration a pris fin en 2022. Depuis lors, WOLF est une entit\u00e9 ind\u00e9pendante, dirig\u00e9e par le PDG Sebastiaan Van de Voorde et sa propre \u00e9quipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cependant, le d\u00e9bat va au-del\u00e0 de ce seul march\u00e9 alimentaire. Le c\u0153ur de la critique touche \u00e0 une question sociale plus large : jusqu’o\u00f9 peut-on aller dans la commercialisation des symboles culturels ?
