Les consommateurs am\u00e9ricains, en revanche, r\u00e9duisent leurs d\u00e9penses alimentaires, principalement en raison du prix \u00e9lev\u00e9 de l&rsquo;essence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La reprise prendra du temps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le fabricant de Pepsi, Lay\u2019s et Doritos a vu son chiffre d\u2019affaires progresser de 6,4 % au deuxi\u00e8me trimestre, pour atteindre 24,18 milliards de dollars. Le b\u00e9n\u00e9fice net a atteint 2,98 milliards de dollars, soit 2,18 dollars par action, ce qui repr\u00e9sente une hausse de 3,8 %. Les volumes ont augment\u00e9 de 3 % dans le secteur alimentaire et de 2 % dans celui des boissons. Ce sont de bons chiffres, globalement conformes aux attentes. Pourtant, les observateurs et les investisseurs se montrent quelque peu inquiets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En effet, la croissance en volume provenait uniquement des march\u00e9s internationaux. Sur le march\u00e9 int\u00e9rieur nord-am\u00e9ricain, la demande s\u2019av\u00e8re faible. Le secteur alimentaire a enregistr\u00e9 un volume stable, tandis que la division des boissons a vu son volume baisser de 4 %. La pression inflationniste en est la cause : les consommateurs r\u00e9duisent leurs d\u00e9penses alimentaires. \u00ab Je pense que la demande des consommateurs est plus faible que pr\u00e9vu, et cela est principalement d\u00fb aux prix de l\u2019essence \u00bb, d\u00e9clare le pr\u00e9sident-directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Ramon Laguarta. La demande a \u00e9t\u00e9 particuli\u00e8rement faible dans les commerces de proximit\u00e9 et les stations-service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce marasme aux \u00c9tats-Unis dure depuis d\u00e9j\u00e0 deux ans. PepsiCo tente de renverser la tendance en proposant des baisses de prix allant jusqu\u2019\u00e0 15 % sur les marques de snacks Lay\u2019s, Tostitos, Doritos et Cheetos, ainsi qu\u2019en proposant des conditionnements plus petits. Mais selon l\u2019entreprise, il faudra du temps avant que les volumes ne se redressent.
