Un v\u00e9ritable \u2018combat de titans\u2019 s\u2019est d\u00e9clench\u00e9. Et pas seulement en Chine.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<h2>Croissance rapide<\/h2>\n<p>\nLa Chine est l\u2019endroit au monde, o\u00f9 l\u2019e-commerce et les paiements mobiles progressent le plus rapidement. Un march\u00e9 particuli\u00e8rement int\u00e9ressant, que lorgnent de nombreux groupes retail, mais \u00e0 la fois un march\u00e9 tr\u00e8s difficile o\u00f9 il n\u2019est pas \u00e9vident de s\u2019implanter.<\/p>\n<p>\nC\u2019est ce qu\u2019a pu constater Walmart, pr\u00e9sent en Chine depuis 1996 avec des magasins physiques sous les enseignes Walmart et Sam\u2019s Club. C\u00f4t\u00e9 online, Walmart Chine a ouvert le webshop <a href=\"http:\/\/www.samsclub.cn\">www.samsclub.cn<\/a>, a lanc\u00e9 l\u2019appli \u2018Walmart To Go\u2019 (y compris une fonction de paiement mobile) et a repris l\u2019e-commer\u00e7ant chinois <strong>Yihaodian<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\nPas mal, mais pas suffisant selon le CEO Doug McMillon, qui estime que Walmart doit absolument r\u00e9ussir sur un march\u00e9 d\u2019o\u00f9 proviendra environ 25% du chiffre d\u2019affaires global du retail dans les cinq ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir. Tr\u00e8s vite le CEO s\u2019est rendu compte que Yihaodian avec sa part de march\u00e9 de 1,3% \u00e9tait incapable de faire face aux 23% de JD.com ou aux 58% d\u2019Alibaba.<\/p>\n<h2>\nParticipation strat\u00e9gique<\/h2>\n<p>Afin d\u2019augmenter son impact sur l\u2019\u00e9norme march\u00e9 chinois, Walmart a donc d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9changer ses actions Yihaodian pour une participation strat\u00e9gique dans JD.com, le plus grand rival d\u2019Alibaba et l\u2019une des entreprises d\u2019e-commerce B2C connaissant la plus forte croissance en Chine. L\u2019entreprise progresse d\u2019environ 40% par an et vise un chiffre d\u2019affaires de pr\u00e8s de 40 milliards de dollars d\u2019ici la fin de cette ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>\nEn octobre Walmart a augment\u00e9 sa participation minoritaire de 5,9% \u00e0 10,8%, ce qui fait de Walmart le troisi\u00e8me plus grand actionnaire de JD.com, apr\u00e8s Richard Liu (fondateur et CEO) et <strong>Tencent <\/strong>(le pendant chinois de <strong>Facebook<\/strong>, avec une capitalisation boursi\u00e8re impressionnante de pr\u00e8s de 260 milliards de dollars).<\/p>\n<p>\nEn ce moment Walmart et JD.com collaborent autour de trois projets int\u00e9ressants en Chine. Tout d\u2019abord Walmart a ouvert un flagship store Sam\u2019s Club exclusif sur la puissante plate-forme online de JD.com. Dans quasi toute la Chine les consommateurs ont la possibilit\u00e9 de commander des produits de Sam\u2019s Club et de se les faire livrer \u00e0 domicile le jour m\u00eame ou le lendemain. Ainsi Walmart a acc\u00e8s \u00e0 un \u00e9norme march\u00e9 encore inexploit\u00e9. D\u2019autre part Sam\u2019s Club projette l\u2019ouverture d\u2019au moins 20 magasins physiques suppl\u00e9mentaires en Chine d\u2019ici 2019.<\/p>\n<h2>\nAlimentation online<\/h2>\n<p>Le deuxi\u00e8me projet concerne l\u2019ouverture du Walmart Global Imports Store sur la plate-forme JD Worldwide. Cette plate-forme permet aux consommateurs chinois de commander des produits de Walmart en direct aux Etats-Unis, au Japon et au Royaume-Uni et de les faire livrer \u00e0 domicile via le r\u00e9seau logistique de JD.com.<\/p>\n<p>\nEt enfin le troisi\u00e8me projet est une collaboration avec <strong>New Dada<\/strong>, un service de livraison low cost \u00e0 l\u2019exemple d\u2019<strong>Uber<\/strong> et d\u2019<strong>InstaCart<\/strong>. New Dada est n\u00e9 d\u2019une co-entreprise entre JD Daojia (le supermarch\u00e9 en ligne de JD.com) et le prestataire logistique Dada. Dans plus de 20 magasins chinois de Walmart, les clients ont la possibilit\u00e9 de commander des produits alimentaires (frais) en ligne et de les faire livrer \u00e0 domicile dans les deux heures. C\u2019est n\u2019est pas un fait divers : plus de 50% des consommateurs chinois ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 achet\u00e9 des produits alimentaires en ligne, contre seulement 10% aux Etats-Unis. La riche exp\u00e9rience de JD.com dans la distribution d\u2019aliments frais est un atout comp\u00e9titif important face \u00e0 Alibaba. Une lutte passionnante en perspective.<\/p>\n<h2>\nL\u2019Inde et l\u2019Europe dans la collimateur<\/h2>\n<p>Il est int\u00e9ressant de consid\u00e9rer les initiatives de Walmart en Chine dans le contexte de la lutte d\u2019une poign\u00e9e de grand groupe retail pour l\u2019h\u00e9g\u00e9monie mondiale.<\/p>\n<p>\nBien s\u00fbr Amazon ne pouvait rester \u00e0 la traine. En Chine, le grand rival am\u00e9ricain de Walmart \u00e0 lui seul atteint \u00e0 peine une part de march\u00e9 de 1,5%. La premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape pour rem\u00e9dier \u00e0 cette situation\u00a0 a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019ouvrir un webshop Amazon sur Tmall, la place de march\u00e9 d\u2019Alibaba. Une initiative dont l\u2019impact est pour l\u2019instant limit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>\nEt la Chine n\u2019est pas le seul champ de bataille, o\u00f9 guerroient les grands retailers. Qu\u2019en est-il de l\u2019Inde, qui cette ann\u00e9e a ouvert plus grand ses portes aux investisseurs \u00e9trangers dans le secteur du e-commerce ? Walmart est en discussion avec <strong>Flipkart<\/strong>, le principal acteur dans le domaine du commerce \u00e9lectronique en Inde, tandis qu\u2019Amazon et Alibaba, eux aussi, y aiguisent leurs couteaux.<\/p>\n<p>\nCes m\u00eames titans ont \u00e9galement jeter leur d\u00e9volu sur l\u2019Europe. Walmart a d\u00e9j\u00e0 un pied au Royaume-Uni ; Amazon s\u2019attaque non seulement au Royaume-Uni, mais aussi \u00e0 l\u2019Allemagne et la France ; Alibaba a ouvert divers bureaux europ\u00e9ens dont <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/fr\/news\/que-recherche-alibaba-au-benelux\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">un au Benelux<\/a>.
