En effet, les d\u00e9veloppements technologiques ont permis par exemple de stocker les donn\u00e9es des clients gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 leur carte de fid\u00e9lit\u00e9, de savoir avec pr\u00e9cision sur quel site l\u2019internaute a surf\u00e9 ou encore de localiser le consommateur \u00e0 tout moment de la journ\u00e9e. Autant de possibilit\u00e9s qui sont largement mises \u00e0 profit par les retailers.<\/p>\n<p>Mais toutes ces informations mettent au d\u00e9fi leur fa\u00e7on d\u2019agir. Comme le professeur David Nicholas du University College de Londres nous l\u2019exposera lors du \u2018Congr\u00e8s RetailDetail \u2013 Retailing 2020\u2019, la technologie contemporaine a cr\u00e9\u00e9 le consommateur digital et la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration Google.<\/p>\n<h2>\n<br \/>Un consommateur en errance<\/h2>\n<p>\u00ab Une \u00e9tude r\u00e9alis\u00e9e au Royaume-Uni d\u00e9montre que les gens aujourd\u2019hui passent la majorit\u00e9 de leur temps \u2013 lorsqu\u2019ils ne mangent, ne dorment ou ne voyagent pas \u2013 avec leur ordinateur, leur t\u00e9l\u00e9phone mobile ou la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision \u00bb, explique le professeur Nicholas dans la revue professionnelle\u00a0 Learned Publishing.<\/p>\n<p>Le monde digital faisant partie int\u00e9grante de la vie quotidienne du consommateur, il est donc incontournable pour les retailers. Le temps pass\u00e9 online est un moment fugace et de promiscuit\u00e9 : \u00ab La plupart des internautes qui visitent un site ne parcourent qu\u2019 1 \u00e0 3 pages et au moins la moiti\u00e9 des visiteurs ne consulteront plus le site ult\u00e9rieurement \u00bb, selon le professeur d\u2019universit\u00e9. Online on ne reste souvent que quelques minutes \u00e0 un endroit, ce qui est impensable dans l\u2019univers physique.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Le retail s\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ve \u00e0 un nouveau niveau<\/h2>\n<p>Toutefois ce type de comportement\u00a0 s\u2019applique \u00e9galement \u00e0 l\u2019univers offline. Nous ne faisons plus une ou deux choses au m\u00eame moment, mais au moins 5 choses en m\u00eame temps. C\u2019est pourquoi la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration Google est \u00e9galement surnomm\u00e9e la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration du \u2018multi-tasking\u2019. Rien d\u2019\u00e9tonnant \u00e0 ce qu\u2019un client en magasin soit \u00e0 la fois en train de t\u00e9l\u00e9phoner , d\u2019essayer des v\u00eatements et de mettre \u00e0 jour son statut Facebook &#8211; y compris la photo de son acquisition. \u00ab Nous n\u2019arrivons plus \u00e0 faire une chose \u00e0 la fois. Nous pr\u00e9f\u00e9rons faire des tas de choses diff\u00e9rentes en m\u00eame temps, parce que c\u2019est plus int\u00e9ressant.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pour les retailers \u2013 et pour tout un chacun qui propose quelque chose au consommateur \u2013 il s\u2019agit donc de revoir la mani\u00e8re dont ils se pr\u00e9sentent, dont ils sont per\u00e7us par le consommateur. \u00ab On ne peut pas revenir en arri\u00e8re. Les smartphones \u00e9l\u00e8veront\u00a0 la consommation digitale \u00e0 un tout autre niveau. \u00bb<\/p>\n<h2>\n<br \/>Brainstorming avec la fine fleur belge<\/h2>\n<p>Mais les retailers physiques ne sont pas les seuls \u00e0 devoir s\u2019adapter, car selon David Nicholas l\u2019univers online a \u00e9galement fait quelques erreurs d\u2019appr\u00e9ciation : \u00ab\u00a0 Les webdesigners ont cru \u00e0 tort que les utilisateurs reproduiraient leur (ancien) comportement dans l\u2019univers offline \u2013 caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 essentiellement par une offre limit\u00e9e \u2013 sur la toile. Mais l\u2019internet fonctionne de fa\u00e7on totalement diff\u00e9rente : le choix incroyablement vaste, offert au consommateur sur internet, a chang\u00e9 radicalement son comportement. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Comment peut-on r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ces nouvelles tendances ?
