Une nouvelle qui soul\u00e8ve \u00e9galement beaucoup de questions quant \u00e0 l\u2019avenir de <strong>Carrefour<\/strong> en Belgique.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Beau parcours<\/h2>\n<p>Il fallait in\u00e9vitablement s\u2019attendre \u00e0 de nombreux rebondissements dans le paysage des supermarch\u00e9s wallon, depuis que la famille Mestdagh a annonc\u00e9 fin de l\u2019ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/fr\/news\/food\/breaking-mestdagh-rompt-son-contrat-avec-carrefour\">la rupture<\/a> de son contrat de master franchise avec Carrefour Belgium. Mestdagh est en perte de vitesse depuis plusieurs ann\u00e9es : les difficult\u00e9s ont commenc\u00e9 d\u00e8s 2010, avec la reprise de seize supermarch\u00e9s Carrefour Market d\u00e9ficitaires. A posteriori, cette op\u00e9ration \u00e9tait une grosse erreur pour l\u2019entreprise familiale. Depuis, le groupe s\u2019enlise : plusieurs restructurations successives n\u2019ont pas permis de renverser la vapeur. La famille jette donc l\u2019\u00e9ponge.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Que ce soit justement Intermarch\u00e9 qui <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/fr\/news\/food\/breaking-intermarch%C3%A9-reprend-les-magasins-carrefour-mestdagh\">reprenne l\u2019entreprise<\/a> est un d\u00e9veloppement int\u00e9ressant. Les Mousquetaires, comme ils se surnomment, r\u00e9alisent un tr\u00e8s beau parcours dans le sud du pays ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es. Ils ont r\u00e9alis\u00e9 un chiffre d\u2019affaires de 780 millions d\u2019euros avec 78 magasins l\u2019ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re et vont maintenant presque doubler leur pr\u00e9sence, m\u00eame s&rsquo;ils doivent se d\u00e9faire de quelques magasins Mestdagh. Ils se positionnent ainsi comme un acteur de taille sur le march\u00e9 francophone. Ils sont soutenus par un groupe europ\u00e9en solide, qui fait concurrence \u00e0 Carrefour pour la deuxi\u00e8me place sur le march\u00e9 national fran\u00e7ais.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Formule \u00e0 succ\u00e8s<\/h2>\n<p>Dans un sens, Intermarch\u00e9 endosse dans le sud un r\u00f4le de catalyseur tr\u00e8s similaire \u00e0 celui d\u2019<strong>Albert Heijn<\/strong> dans le nord. Les deux d\u00e9taillants d\u00e9fient l\u2019ordre \u00e9tabli avec une combinaison de prix bas, de promotions all\u00e9chantes et des magasins modernes avec une belle offre de produits frais. Les chiffres parlent d\u2019eux-m\u00eames : le chiffre d\u2019affaires <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lecho.be\/entreprises\/grande-distribution\/intermarche-s-offre-les-magasins-du-groupe-mestdagh\/10370424\">a progress\u00e9 de 72 % depuis 2015<\/a>, rapporte L\u2019Echo. L&rsquo;ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re, la croissance s\u2019\u00e9levait \u00e0 6 %.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>La force des Mousquetaires ? Un esprit d\u2019entrepreneuriat local : tous les magasins sont exploit\u00e9s par des exploitants ind\u00e9pendants qui assument simultan\u00e9ment une fonction de management \u00e0 la centrale. C\u2019est ce qu&rsquo;on appelle l\u2019\u00ab\u00a0ownership\u00a0\u00bb au carr\u00e9, une formule \u00e0 succ\u00e8s qui, en raison de diff\u00e9rences culturelles, n\u2019a vraisemblablement jamais perc\u00e9 dans le nord du pays, malgr\u00e9 quelques timides tentatives. Reste \u00e0 voir comment le groupe va int\u00e9grer les magasins Mestdagh dans une organisation qui s\u2019articule de mani\u00e8re totalement diff\u00e9rente&#8230; En effet, le foss\u00e9 pourrait difficilement \u00eatre plus grand. Cette transition inqui\u00e8te d\u2019ores et d\u00e9j\u00e0 les syndicats. Sur le plan du e-commerce, les entrepreneurs ont \u00e9galement encore beaucoup de pain sur la planche. Mais ce grand pas en avant est en tout cas tr\u00e8s prometteur.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>La concurrence se renforce<\/h2>\n<p>Ce d\u00e9veloppement est loin d\u2019\u00eatre une aussi bonne nouvelle pour Carrefour Belgium. Le d\u00e9taillant perd soudainement 87 supermarch\u00e9s au profit d&rsquo;un concurrent. La part de march\u00e9, d\u00e9j\u00e0 en chute libre depuis la reprise de GB, subit un nouveau coup dur. Le chiffre d\u2019affaires est \u00e0 nouveau en baisse. En outre, la concurrence dans la partie francophone du pays s\u2019exacerbe. Quelle est la r\u00e9ponse de Carrefour face aux prix bas et aux promotions sensationnelles des Mousquetaires ?<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Carrefour n\u2019a pas t\u00e9moign\u00e9 d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat pour la reprise de Mestdagh, bien qu\u2019il d\u00e9tienne 25 % des parts de l\u2019entreprise familiale. \u00ab\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tijd.be\/ondernemen\/retail\/carrefour-verliest-87-belgische-winkels-aan-grote-rivaal\/10370429.html\">Pas int\u00e9ressant sur le plan financier<\/a>\u00a0\u00bb, indique la porte-parole, Aur\u00e9lie Gerth, dans De Tijd. Elle souligne que la contribution de Mestdagh dans les b\u00e9n\u00e9fices de Carrefour est minime et que le d\u00e9taillant fran\u00e7ais restera bel et bien actif en Belgique. Une situation qui soul\u00e8ve toutefois de nombreuses questions quant aux futurs projets du groupe en Belgique. S\u2019il semblait remis sur les rails en pleine pand\u00e9mie, il fait aujourd&rsquo;hui marche arri\u00e8re. Le d\u00e9taillant n\u2019a pas r\u00e9solu ses probl\u00e8mes logistiques <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/fr\/news\/food\/des-rayons-vides-chez-carrefour-%C3%A0-cause-de-gr%C3%A8ves-dans-les-centres-de-distribution\">apr\u00e8s la gr\u00e8ve \u00e0 Nivelles<\/a>, et plus encore : la direction n\u2019a jamais r\u00e9ellement donn\u00e9 l\u2019impression qu\u2019elle pouvait ou souhaitait arranger les choses.\u00a0 Un myst\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Strat\u00e9gie de contraction ?<\/h2>\n<p>Les probl\u00e8mes logistiques ont suscit\u00e9 un vent de col\u00e8re parmi les franchis\u00e9s, certains \u00e9tant fortement sollicit\u00e9s par les concurrents hollandais. L\u2019ambiance est glaciale. Plut\u00f4t \u00e9tonnant quand on sait que les franchis\u00e9s repr\u00e9sentent la moiti\u00e9 du chiffre d\u2019affaires.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, la cha\u00eene a \u00e9galement ferm\u00e9 discr\u00e8tement un grand nombre de supermarch\u00e9s, certains ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 repris par Albert Heijn et <strong>Jumbo<\/strong>, et <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/fr\/news\/food\/carrefour-transf%C3%A8re-son-si%C3%A8ge-social-%C3%A0-zaventem\">a d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 son si\u00e8ge dans un plus petit complexe<\/a>. Le <em>Downsizing<\/em> semble \u00eatre le mot d&rsquo;ordre. L\u2019entreprise continue malgr\u00e9 tout \u00e0 quelque peu se d\u00e9velopper avec les petits magasins de proximit\u00e9 Carrefour Express. Mais se contracter jusqu\u2019\u00e0 dispara\u00eetre, ce n\u2019est pas une strat\u00e9gie viable.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Que le groupe Carrefour, magistralement emmen\u00e9 par Alexandre Bompard, r\u00e9alise un parcours de reprise admirable, personne ne dira le contraire. Mais en Belgique, la mise en \u0153uvre reste une pierre d\u2019achoppement.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Et les Hollandais ?<\/h2>\n<p>Une derni\u00e8re remarque pour conclure : Dans cette affaire, Albert Heijn et Jumbo se sont faits couper l\u2019herbe sous le pied. Une reprise aurait pu permettre \u00e0 l\u2019un des d\u00e9taillants d\u2019affirmer instantan\u00e9ment sa position dans le sud du pays. Une \u00e9tape qu&rsquo;ils devront bien se r\u00e9soudre \u00e0 franchir, s&rsquo;ils souhaitent concr\u00e9tiser leurs ambitions. La retenue semble actuellement de mise, en particulier du c\u00f4t\u00e9 d\u2019Albert Heijn qui a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/fr\/news\/food\/%C2%AB-en-flandre-aussi-albert-heijn-fait-d%C3%A9sormais-partie-du-quotidien-%C2%BB-marit-van-egmond-et\">explicitement exprim\u00e9 sa r\u00e9ticence<\/a> l\u2019ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re. Ils n\u2019auront pas beaucoup d\u2019autres opportunit\u00e9s de reprise dans la r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 moins que <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/fr\/news\/food\/la-grande-transformation-est-amorc%C3%A9e-match-devient-louis-delhaize\">la transformation annonc\u00e9e la semaine derni\u00e8re<\/a> de <strong>Match<\/strong> en <strong>Louis Delhaize<\/strong> ne produise pas le r\u00e9sultat escompt\u00e9, bien entendu. Certains observateurs voient en cette op\u00e9ration de reconversion la pr\u00e9paration d\u2019une vente imminente. Un mariage que personne ne pourra refuser. Si c\u2019est en effet le cas, 90 magasins seront \u00e0 nouveau sur le march\u00e9 d\u2019ici deux \u00e0 trois ans.
