Hoe ga je daar in marketing mee om? Op de Retail Marketing Day ziet dagvoorzitter Gino Van Ossel (Vlerick Business School) zowel retailveteranen als jonge snaken balanceren tussen \u2018quick wins\u2019 en langetermijntransformatie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rijzende sterren of gevestigde waarden<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Het is altijd een evenwichtsoefening tussen de korte en de lange termijn: moet je de klant actief overtuigen om langs te komen en te kopen \u2013 met promotioneel beleid, kortingen, enzovoort \u2013 of moet je toch eerder nadenken waar je voor staat als merk, ook al geeft dat misschien minder directe return?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heel inspirerend zijn ongetwijfeld nieuwe concepten die uit het niets ontstaan en heel hard groeien. <strong>Tout Bien<\/strong>, <strong>Ray &amp; Jules<\/strong> en <strong>Promojagers <\/strong>zijn daarvan sprekende voorbeelden op de Retail Marketing Day op 19 september. \u201cAls je van nul vertrekt, ga je natuurlijk sneller omhoog. Maar het toont wel degelijk dat je ook in een moeilijke markt kan groeien.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMaar ik kijk op de Retail Marketing Day even hard uit naar de presentaties van echte \u2019legacy\u2019-retailers, zoals <strong>Carrefour<\/strong>, <strong>Standaard Boekhandel<\/strong> en <strong>LolaLiza<\/strong>.\u201d Ook hen ziet Van Ossel immers dezelfde vraag stellen: \u201cDe oppervlakkige analyse is altijd simpel: je moet je heruitvinden. Maar wat ga je veranderen en wat moet je behouden? Hoe ga je je DNA als merk behouden terwijl je je aanpast aan veranderingen in de markt?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Strategisch of tactisch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Standaard Boekhandel is bijvoorbeeld al een hele tijd met de oefening bezig, maar nu de retailer een volledig nieuw logo en huisstijl heeft, wordt het plots zeer concreet. \u201cEen logo heeft een hele hoge symbolische waarde, maar wat voor velen onzichtbaar blijft, is dat de keten sterk inzet op het \u2018young adult\u2019-segment en inspeelt op de Booktok-trend op TikTok.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ook Carrefour en LolaLiza moeten zich van hun kant staande te zien te houden in een zeer concurrenti\u00eble markt. \u201cVan de hypermarkt anno 2024 tot hoe je succesvol mode kan bedrijven in een oververzadigde (fast-)fashionmarkt, het is interessant om te zien hoe die spelers een evenwicht zoeken tussen strategische en meer tactische keuzes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Digitale transformatie of dagelijkse kost<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bij de afweging tussen strategie en tactiek, rijst onvermijdelijk de vraag naar toekomstvisie. Het digitale gaat altijd maar verder, duurzaamheid wordt steeds belangrijker, maar tegelijkertijd blijven de dagelijkse operaties natuurlijk doorlopen. Straks zijn er alweer de eindejaarsfolders en Black Friday-promo\u2019s \u2013 en ook die krijgen een heel duidelijke digitale inslag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKijk maar naar het succes van Promojagers: iedereen weet dat promo heel belangrijk is, maar hoe kan je het beter begrijpen en hoe kan je daar zelfs een business uit opbouwen? Ook Carrefour heeft steeds meer digitale folders, zoals bijvoorbeeld een heel effectieve halalfolder. Ray &amp; Jules houdt heel bewust vast aan e-commerce voor rechtstreekse klantenbinding, terwijl zijn groene technologie inmiddels de wereld rondgaat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fundamenteel of slag in het water<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Iedereen is met een digitale inhaalbeweging bezig, maar ook daar is het weer een evenwichtsoefening, ziet Van Ossel: hoe kan je als bestaande speler die nieuwigheden toevoegen zonder tegelijkertijd je DNA te verloochenen? En zonder je bestaande klanten af te stoten? Zonder een gedegen marketingstrategie is elke vernieuwing een slag in het water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zolang je echt voeling hebt met je consument, kan succesvol ondernemen dus absoluut nog. Tout Bien is maar \u00e9\u00e9n van de vele voorbeelden: \u201cHier zit duidelijk veel meer strategisch nadenken achter dan een influencer die een biertje lanceert.
