Dat blijkt nog maar eens uit een nieuw rapport van onderzoeks- en adviesbureau <strong>Stylus<\/strong> in opdracht van <strong>Visa Europe<\/strong>: &#8220;<em>The future of retail<\/em>&#8220;. Daarin gaan de onderzoekers na in welke landen de retailers al dan niet klaar zijn om de volgende generatie van consumenten te verwelkomen, klanten voor wie online personalisatie onlosmakelijk verbonden is met de in-store ervaring.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Stylus berekende voor elk land een zogeheten <em>Future of Retail Market Readiness Index<\/em>. Die baseert zich op vier factoren om te bepalen hoe goed een land op de toekomst van retail is voorbereid: penetratiegraad van smartphones (speelt mee voor 40%), gebruik van contactloze betaaltechnologie (25%), penetratiegraad van sociale media (25%) en tot slot de leeftijd van de bevolking (10%).<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Uiteindelijk blijken Spanje (met index 98,6) en het Verenigd Koninkrijk (index 91,9) het best voorbereid om nieuwe technologie\u00ebn te integreren en zo tegemoet te komen aan de vraag naar een gepersonaliseerde winkelervaring. Dankzij de hoge penetratie van smartphones (respectievelijk 85% en 77% volgens Global Web Index) en de penetratie van sociale media (82% en 59%) lenen die markten zich perfect tot nieuwe, digitaal aangestuurde winkelervaringen. Polen volgt op drie (index 90), Frankrijk op vier (index 84,2) en Turkije op vijf (index 83,4).<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Belgi\u00eb niet in top-10<\/h2>\n<p>Terwijl onze Noorderburen op een knappe zevende plaats staan (index 79,5), haalt ons land de top-10 niet (index 63,9). Daarvoor is het aantal contactloze betaalkaarten, dat in ons land vandaag al in oploop is, nog veel te laag (amper 7,5%) terwijl ook de penetratiegraad van smartphones (60,6%) en sociale media (52%) al bij al aan de lage kant blijft.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Toch verwacht Jean-Marie de Crayencour, Country Manager BeLux van Visa Europe, dat ons land die achterstand snel zal inhalen. &#8220;De penetratie van contactloze kaarten in Belgi\u00eb neemt toe, omdat de meeste banken de integratie ervan op hun planning hebben staan. De eerste contactloze Visa-kaarten werden dit jaar in Belgi\u00eb uitgegeven en handelaars sluiten deze innovatieve technologie in de armen. Zo zal 50 tot 60% van de terminals tegen eind 2016 met de contactloze technologie van Visa zijn uitgerust.
