De update, die wereldwijd wordt uitgerold, is een belangrijke \u2018gamechanger\u2019 voor e-commerce. ChatGPT wil klanten \u201ceen meer gepersonaliseerde en converserende shopervaring\u201d bieden, maar hoe zorgen retailers ervoor dat ze mee kunnen met die nieuwe manier van online shoppen?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wie komt bovendrijven?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sinds enkele dagen kunnen gebruikers in de Verenigde Staten \u2013 ook zonder account \u2013 ChatGPT vragen om hen te helpen met winkelen. De bot herkent aankoopintenties in zoekvragen en presenteert vervolgens een carrousel van relevante producten, inclusief afbeeldingen, beschrijvingen, gebruikersreviews en een directe link naar de productpagina bij retailers. De nieuwe shopinterface werkt voorlopig binnen de categorie\u00ebn mode, schoonheid, huishoudartikelen en elektronica. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ChatGPT slaat voorkeuren van gebruikers op, zoals favoriete merken of kleuren, om aanbevelingen beter af te stemmen. Eigenaar OpenAI benadrukt dat de getoonde producten niet gesponsord zijn en dat het bedrijf geen inkomsten ontvangt via <em>affiliate<\/em>-links. De producten verschijnen naar verluidt puur op basis van \u201cde metadata van handelaars en data die wij ontvangen van externe leveranciers.\u201d Er wordt niet gerangschikt op prijs, levertijd of retourbeleid. Of er later toch geen commerci\u00eble samenwerkingen aan worden gekoppeld? Daar wil productverantwoordelijke Adam Fry in een interview met Wired <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/openai-adds-shopping-to-chatgpt\/\" target=\"_blank\">nog niks over kwijt<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Volledig nieuwe spelregels<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Tests van Mashable wezen wel op tekortkomingen: traagheid (tot 40&nbsp;seconden voor een antwoord) en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/technology\/we-tried-chatgpt-s-experimental-new-shopping-features-how-do-they-work\/ar-AA1DNirb\" target=\"_blank\">links naar obscure webshops<\/a> ondermijnen volgens de techsite de gebruikservaring. OpenAI onderzoekt alvast een systeem waarbij webshops hun productfeeds rechtstreeks kunnen indienen, via een aanmeldingsformulier op de website. Zo&#8217;n directe integratie zou vooral kleinere spelers extra zichtbaarheid kunnen geven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ChatGPT als shoptool dreigt zo de zichtbaarheid van onlineretailers en hun producten flink dooreen te schudden. Jarenlang hebben webshops zich volledig geoptimaliseerd voor Google, maar nu staat een een nieuwe manier van zoeken (en kopen) op, die volledig andere spelregels hanteert. Daarbij komt dan nog dat die spelregels op dit moment &#8211; zoals dat gaat met de zwarte doos van AI &#8211; nog onduidelijk en ontransparant zijn. E\u00e9n ding is al wel zeker: reviews en &#8220;buzz&#8221; over producten worden nog belangrijker.
