De Frans-Italiaanse brillen- en optiekgroep verhoogt ook de productie van <em>smartglasses<\/em>: de met AI uitgeruste brillen slaan sneller aan dan verwacht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prijsverhogingen in VS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In het eerste semester bleef EssilorLuxottica net onder de verwachtingen: het moederbedrijf van onder meer <strong>Pearle<\/strong> en <strong>GrandOptical<\/strong> zag zijn aangepaste operationele winst met&nbsp;4,1%&nbsp;stijgen naar 2,53&nbsp;miljard euro en de kwartaalomzet met&nbsp;3,2% (bij huidige wisselkoersen). Wisselkoerseffecten drukten het resultaat wel, met name door de verzwakte Amerikaanse dollar: gecorrigeerd daarvoor kwam de omzetgroei uit op 7,3%, in lijn met het eerste kwartaal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De regio\u2019s EMEA, Azi\u00eb en Latijns-Amerika boekten een hoge enkelcijferige groei, terwijl Noord-Amerika (de grootste markt van het concern) een groei van&nbsp;5,5% realiseerde bij constante valuta. Die groei werd mede ondersteund door <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/nl\/news\/mode\/wat-ziet-meta-in-essilorluxottica\/\" target=\"_blank\">de overname van het streetwearmerk <strong>Supreme<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EssilorLuxottica past intussen wel zijn prijsbeleid aan in reactie op Amerikaanse importtarieven. Financieel directeur Stefano Grassi gaf aan dat het bedrijf in de Verenigde Staten de prijzen al met enkele procenten heeft verhoogd. \u201cHet volledige effect hiervan zal vooral in de tweede jaarhelft zichtbaar worden\u201d, aldus Grassi. Ook werkt het concern aan het diversifi\u00ebren van zijn toeleveringsketen om minder afhankelijk te worden van individuele markten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Brillen zijn &#8220;volgende computingplatform&#8221;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Naast de financi\u00eble resultaten trok de smartglasses-divisie de aandacht. CEO Francesco Milleri meldde dat de omzet uit de Ray-Ban Meta smartglasses \u2013 ontwikkeld <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/nl\/news\/fashion\/meta-investeert-drie-miljard-euro-in-slimme-brillen-essilorluxottica\/\" target=\"_blank\">in samenwerking met Facebook-moederbedrijf <strong>Meta<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 in de eerste jaarhelft meer dan verdrievoudigde. De vraag naar zulke brillen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/nl\/news\/schoonheid-verzorging\/essilorluxottica-gaat-voor-slimme-brillen-en-meer-winst\/\" target=\"_blank\">blijkt voorlopig sterker dan eerder ingeschat<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De topman suggereerde bovendien dat de productiecapaciteit voor smartglasses mogelijk uitgebreid wordt. Hoewel deze brillen nog slechts een klein deel van de groepsomzet uitmaken, beschouwt het bedrijf ze als strategisch belangrijk.
