Daarmee laat het bedrijf een veel sterker resultaat zien dan in het eerste kwartaal, toen er nauwelijks groei werd geboekt (0,2%). Ook de organische omzet steeg fors met 5,6%. De belangrijkste motor achter die prestaties zijn de prijsverhogingen die de producent van Milka en Oreo doorvoert om kostenstijgingen voor onder andere cacao te compenseren. Tegelijkertijd daalde het volume met slechts 1,5%, een kleinere krimp dan eerder in het jaar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Met name in Europa zijn de cijfers behoorlijk indrukwekkend: de netto-omzet steeg er met 18,7%, terwijl de organische groei 12,5% bedroeg. Volgens CEO Dirk Van de Put blijven Europese consumenten ook bij fors opgelopen prijzen trouw aan hun chocolade-aankopen. In de aanloop naar Pasen hadden de hogere prijzen geen impact op het verkochte volume, al doet het warme weer sindsdien de chocoladeverkoop wel enigszins dalen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Inflatie en economische onzekerheid<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>De situatie in Noord- en Latijns-Amerika is anders: daar noteert Mondel\u0113z lagere netto-opbrengsten. Inflatie en economische onzekerheid duwen consumenten daar richting basisproducten, waardoor chocolade vaker links blijft liggen. CFO Luca Zaramella verwacht dat de VS later dit jaar weer licht herstel tonen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CEO Van de Put nuanceert zorgen rond de impact van GLP-1 afslankmedicijnen op Amerikaanse volumes. \u201cSlechts 4% van de Amerikaanse bevolking gebruikt deze middelen, en dan pas sinds negen maanden,\u201d stelt hij.
