Ze willen zelf immers niet opdraaien voor de kosten om de kledij te vernietigen of recycleren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Draaischijf van namaak<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Namaak \u2013 hoofdzakelijk vanuit China \u2013 is een nijpend probleem voor de modesector. Spotgoedkope kopie\u00ebn van bekende mode- en luxemerken bedreigen niet alleen de reputatie en de omzet van de producenten, maar ook de veiligheid en gezondheid van consumenten. Toch blijken heel wat modemerken ervoor te opteren om namaakgoederen die onderschept worden door de douanediensten, gewoon toe te laten op de markt. Dat blijkt uit navraag van het consumentenprogramma &#8216;WinWin&#8217; op radiozender VRT&nbsp;1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hoe komt dat? Dagelijks onderschept de douane namaakproducten op de luchthaven van Luik, een belangrijke hub voor de handel vanuit China naar Europa \u2013 en dus ook een ware draaischijf van namaak in Europa. De douane mag die producten echter niet zomaar vernietigen: ze mag enkel de overtreding vaststellen en de goederen opzijzetten. \u201cDe merkhouders &#8211; zoals Nike en Adidas bijvoorbeeld &#8211; moeten beslissen wat er met de kopie\u00ebn van hun merk gebeurt. Soms zeggen ze gewoon: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vrt.be\/vrtnws\/nl\/2025\/08\/29\/merken-laten-namaak-van-hun-producten-soms-door-aan-de-douane-ad\/\">laat die namaak maar door<\/a>\u201d, zegt Francis Adyns, woordvoerder van de FOD Financi\u00ebn en de douane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Geen reacties<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>De merken zijn namelijk wettelijk verplicht om de namaakproducten te laten vernietigen of recycleren, maar daar zijn hoge kosten aan verbonden &#8211; en die willen de betrokken bedrijven niet zelf dragen. Daarom beslissen ze vaak om de producten toch toe te laten op de markt, waardoor Belgi\u00eb de facto een draaischijf wordt voor namaak in Europa. Ondanks herhaaldelijk aandringen van het programma wensten betrokken modemerken zoals Nike en Adidas niet te reageren op vragen over hoe ze omgaan met namaak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overigens betekent dit niet dat er in Belgi\u00eb helemaal geen maatregelen worden genomen tegen namaak. De Economische inspectie heeft in tegenstelling tot de douane w\u00e9l politionele bevoegdheden en kan dus goederen in beslag nemen en het parket waarschuwen. De inspecteurs controleren fysieke winkels, webwinkels en gaan zelfs langs bij mensen thuis. Uiteindelijk moeten merkhouders w\u00e9l opdraaien voor de recyclagekosten wanner de inspectie namaakproducten in beslag neemt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bekende modemerken als Nike en Adidas laten bewust namaakversie van hun eigen producten toe op de Belgische (en Europese) markt.
