Dat weegt op de volumes en op de winst van <strong>Mondelez<\/strong>, de fabrikant van Oreo, Milka en LU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fors hogere prijzen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Mondelez International zag de omzet weliswaar met 5,9% stijgen in het derde kwartaal, naar 9,744 miljard dollar (8,4 miljard euro) maar dat was enkel te danken aan forse prijsverhogingen. De verkochte volumes daalden met 7,5 procentpunt in Europa, de grootste markt van het bedrijf, en met 1,8 procentpunt in Noord-Amerika.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De multinational verhoogde de prijzen met gemiddeld 8 procentpunt en in Europa zelfs met 12,6 procentpunt, wat ook een impact had op de concurrentiepositie. Het bedrijf kan moeilijk anders dan de hoge cacaoprijzen doorrekenen, maar het gevolg is dat consumenten in Noord-Amerika en Europa minder van de dure chocolade en snacks kopen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meer promoties, kleinere verpakkingen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Daarbovenop is er de impact van het toenemende gezondheidsbewustzijn, met consumenten die hun suikerinname willen beperken. In de VS heeft de \u201cshutdown\u201d van de overheid het consumentenvertrouwen aangetast. Consumenten met een lager inkomen kiezen voor kleinere verpakkingen en kopen bij discountwinkels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Met promoties en kleinere verpakkingen wil Mondelez zijn snacks betaalbaar houden. De multinational verlaagt wel de vooruitzichten voor het volledige boekjaar: de organische omzetgroei zal 4% bedragen, de winst per aandeel zal ongeveer 15% dalen. Volgens CEO Dirk Van de Put is het ergste nu wel voorbij: &#8220;Hoewel we verwachten dat de uitdagende omstandigheden in sommige markten zullen aanhouden, zijn we bemoedigd door de recente matiging van de cacaoprijzen en de veelbelovende tekenen voor een sterke cacao-oogst dit najaar.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prijsgevoelige consumenten kopen minder dure chocolade en snacks, en opteren vaker voor kleinere verpakkingen.
