Maar achter de indrukwekkende kwartaalcijfers schuilt een complexer verhaal. Een verhaal over groei die grenzen raakt, technologie die controle vraagt, en over de dilemma&#8217;s van franchise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De paradox van succes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahold Delhaize deed het <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/nl\/news\/food\/online-groei-stuwt-de-cijfers-bij-ahold-delhaize\/\">vorig kwartaal nog beter dan verwacht<\/a>. De supermarktreus gaat er zowel online als fysiek, in Europa \u00e9n in de VS op vooruit. De omzet stijgt, de marges houden stand, en huismerken winnen terrein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Terwijl anderen, van Jumbo tot Carrefour, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/nl\/news\/food\/carrefour-herschikt-internationale-portefeuille-polen-in-de-etalage-belgie-in-gevaar\/\">hun weg zoeken<\/a>, trekt Ahold Delhaize zijn eigen plan: sterke merken, omnichannel focus, investeren in technologie. Het werkt. Maar diezelfde strategie brengt dilemma\u2019s met zich mee. De kosten stijgen. Franchisewinkels moeten veiliger en effici\u00ebnter, maar tegelijk moet je lokaal ondernemerschap blijven stimuleren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De zaterdag onttroond<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Neem Belgi\u00eb. De zondagsopeningen blijken een gouden idee. Klanten willen hun verse pistolets tegelijk met de schoollunches voor de week, en met rustige winkelmomenten. De groei op zondag trekt zelfs klanten weg bij concurrenten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maar wie goed kijkt, ziet meer dan alleen commerci\u00eble winst. Het zijn nieuwe klantsegmenten, ander winkelgedrag en een veranderend ritme. Zaterdag is niet langer heilig. De zondag wordt dominant. De vraag is niet of dit invloed heeft op het klassieke supermarktmodel, maar hoe snel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technologie versus franchisevrijheid<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ook digitaal zit Ahold Delhaize in de lift. Bol groeit weer en hielp aan een onlinegroei van 9.7% in Europa. Online boodschappen groeiden zelfs met dubbele cijfers, zowel in de VS als Europa. In Nederland is AH.nl al winstgevend. Maar technologie is niet alleen een groeiversneller \u2014 het is ook een risico. Zeker bij franchiseformules, waar eigen systemen en expertiseniveaus sterk uiteenlopen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Franchise vertegenwoordigt 40% van de Europese omzet. In Belgi\u00eb zelfs bijna 100%. Maar met groei komt verantwoordelijkheid. De cyberrisico\u2019s liggen niet alleen bij de ondernemer, maar raken direct het merk. E\u00e9n incident kan de hele keten schaden. Ahold Delhaize ziet dit zelf ook en stuurt aan op \u201cminder, maar beter georganiseerde\u201d franchiseformats. Terecht. Meer grip is geen luxe meer \u2014 het is noodzaak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is kiezen verliezen?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Daar zit de kern: Ahold Delhaize wil wendbaar zijn \u00e9n controle houden. Lokaal zijn \u00e9n centraal sturen. Groeien \u00e9n beheersen. Dat is een lastige balans, die vraagt om scherpe keuzes. Technologie is geen bijzaak meer, maar franchise ook geen vrijblijvend model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zo komt in de winkels bijvoorbeeld nog een spanningsveld naar boven: hoe ver ga je met retailmedia? Stickers, vloercommunicatie, branded koelkasten \u2014 het levert op, maar tast ook de rust in de winkel aan. Klantbeleving mag niet kapot gemonetariseerd worden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Groei is prachtig, maar het dwingt tot leiderschap. Ahold Delhaize zal niet alleen moeten blijven innoveren, maar ook durven te kiezen. Voor structuur. Voor veiligheid. Voor merkconsistentie.
