{"id":14341,"date":"2016-08-02T08:32:02","date_gmt":"2016-08-02T08:32:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/food\/starbucks-ceo-focuses-premium-strategy\/"},"modified":"2016-08-02T08:32:02","modified_gmt":"2016-08-02T08:32:02","slug":"starbucks-ceo-focuses-premium-strategy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/nl\/news\/food\/starbucks-ceo-focuses-premium-strategy\/","title":{"rendered":"CEO van Starbucks concentreert zich op premium-strategie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Howard Schultz, CEO van koffieketen <strong>Starbucks<\/strong>, gaat een aantal dagtaken uit handen geven, om zich te concentreren op de algemene strategie van het bedrijf en de ontwikkeling van een premium-segment binnen de groep.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Vertraagde groei<\/h2>\n<p>Vanaf 1 september zal Starbucks-topman\u00a0Schultz zich <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/business\/starbucks\/starbucks-says-schultz-will-focus-on-long-term-global-strategy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vooral bezig houden met het duurdere segment binnen de groep<\/a>, zoals de verdere uitbouw van <strong>Roasteries<\/strong>, de high-end koffiewinkels waarvan de eerste zijn deuren opende in 2014, en de <strong>Reserve Stores<\/strong>, waar Starbucks vooral duurdere koffie verkoopt.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>De beslissing voor de focus op de premiumsector komt er nadat de groei van Starbucks wereldwijd begint te vertragen. Zo was er het voorbije jaar op de Amerikaanse continenten sprake van een vergelijkbare groei van slechts 4 procent, terwijl dat een jaar eerder nog 8 procent was. Ook op andere markten begint de groei te vertragen.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Verschuivingen binnen het management<\/h2>\n<p>Omwille van de nieuwe taken van Schultz, zijn er ook een aantal andere verschuivingen binnen het management van het bedrijf. Zo krijgt Kevin Johnson, COO bij Starbucks, de leiding over het senior-managementteam.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cliff Burrows, die momenteel verantwoordelijk is voor alle activiteiten van Starbucks op de Amerikaanse continenten, krijgt dan weer een nieuw team onder zijn hoede dat moet werken aan de expansie van Roasteries, Reserve Stores, <strong>Princi <\/strong>en <strong>Teavana<\/strong>.
