Vooral Chinese consumenten stuwden de vraag, zowel in eigen land als tijdens internationale shoppingreizen. Vandaag tekent zich echter een structurele verschuiving af. De luxeklant in China is volwassen geworden en bepaalt steeds nadrukkelijker zelf wat waardevol is. Luxe evolueert van een ge\u00efmporteerd statussymbool naar een persoonlijke expressie van identiteit en cultuur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De Chinese consument kijkt vandaag ook kritischer naar luxe. Waar vroeger zichtbaarheid en logo\u2019s centraal stonden, verschuift de aandacht naar vakmanschap, herkomst en culturele relevantie. Dat vertaalt zich in meer research, grotere prijsbewustheid en een voorkeur voor tijdloze ontwerpen. Collecties moeten niet alleen esthetisch overtuigen, maar ook inhoudelijk onderbouwd zijn. Transparantie en consistentie worden basisvoorwaarden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deconnecteren als nieuwe luxe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Klanten verwachten relevante interacties die aansluiten bij hun gedrag en voorkeuren, zowel online als offline. Digitale platformen zoals TikTok en Xiaohongshu vormen vaak het startpunt van de klantreis, maar de uiteindelijke aankoop kan echter overal plaatsvinden: online, in de thuisstad of tijdens een buitenlandse trip. Labels zoals Songmont, Laopu Gold en Mao Geping slagen erin lokale esthetiek en vakmanschap te combineren met internationale kwaliteit. Hun succes toont aan dat relevantie steeds vaker lokaal wordt gedefinieerd. Westerse merken kunnen zich niet langer beperken tot het exporteren van hun eigen narratief. Ze moeten actief inspelen op regionale gevoeligheden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consumenten verwachten bovendien duurzaamheid: ze verwachten dat merken verantwoordelijkheid nemen over de volledige levenscyclus van hun producten.
