Terwijl uitgaven aan diensten zoals reizen en evenementen terugvallen, winnen fysieke producten weer terrein &#8211; mede dankzij de Chinese webshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Producten trekken de kar<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>De Nederlandse e-commercemarkt stabiliseert na jaren van expansie, zo blijkt uit de cijfers van de Thuiswinkel Markt Monitor. Consumenten gaven in 2025 in totaal 35,7 miljard euro uit aan online aankopen, een daling van 1% ten opzichte van een jaar eerder. Het aantal online aankopen bleef stabiel op 347 miljoen transacties, maar de samenstelling veranderde aanzienlijk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNa enkele jaren van groei zien we dat de vraag naar diensten wat afkoelt. Dat is niet alleen online zo, want de totale bestedingen aan diensten dalen in gelijke mate,\u201d zegt Marlene ten Ham, algemeen directeur van Thuiswinkel.org.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daartegenover staat een hernieuwde groei in productcategorie\u00ebn. Online bestedingen aan goederen stegen met 2%. Vooral home &amp; living (+12%), huishoudelijke elektronica (+10%) en food &amp; nearfood (+4%) droegen bij. Opvallend is de sterke opleving in speelgoed, met een groei van 24%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meer boodschappen dan reizen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nederlanders gaven vorig jaar online 4,4 miljard euro uit aan food en nearfood, wat het de tweede grootste branche maakt online. De onlineboodschappen naderen de nummer \u00e9\u00e9n (losse vliegtuigtickets eb accommodatie, 4,9 miljard euro) en zijn al een grotere besteding dan verzekeringen (3,5 miljard euro).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ook het aantal productaankopen trok weer aan (+2%), met uitschieters in DIY &amp; garden (+11%) en elektronica (+16%). De cijfers wijzen op een consument die meer investeert in huis en dagelijkse consumptie, en minder in ervaringen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Chinese opmars voelbaar<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Een tweede structurele trend is de verdere internationalisering van online aankopen. Nederlandse consumenten deden in 2025 voor 4,5 miljard euro aan aankopen bij buitenlandse webshops, een stijging van 2%. Het aantal transacties nam sterker toe, met 9% tot circa 45 miljoen aankopen. Het aandeel van cross-border e-commerce bedraagt zo 13% van zowel de totale bestedingen als het aantal aankopen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>China is veruit de belangrijkste buitenlandse aanbieder: inmiddels komt 31% van alle internationale aankopen uit Chinese webshops, tegenover 28% een jaar eerder. De Verenigde Staten en het Verenigd Koninkrijk verliezen terrein, met respectievelijk 9 en 6% marktaandeel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Smartphone wordt dominant<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2025 verliep 41% van alle online aankopen via de smartphone, een stijging van 5 procentpunten. Desktop en laptop zagen hun aandeel dalen van 49 naar 45%. Bij internationale aankopen verloopt die verschuiving trager: daar steeg het smartphoneaandeel slechts van 35 naar 36%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In het betalingsverkeer blijft iDEAL dominant met een aandeel van 71%, ondanks een lichte daling ten opzichte van 72% een jaar eerder.
