Voor de grootste moderetailer ter wereld luidt dat een volgende fase in de ontwikkeling in, precies 25 jaar na de beursgang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Een formule voor elke klant<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Topman \u00d3scar Garc\u00eda Maceiras benadrukt in een interview met Bloomberg TV dat het concern zich wil onderscheiden door klanten wereldwijd via verschillende formules te bedienen. Het concern haalt een belangrijk concurrentievoordeel uit zijn brede geografische spreiding. Inditex heeft winkels in 98 landen en beheert acht merken, waaronder Zara, Massimo Dutti, Bershka en Lefties. Dat laatste merk, dat zich richt op goedkopere mode, breidt nu ook verder uit buiten Spanje en Portugal. Garc\u00eda Maceiras noemt die diversificatie \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-05-22\/zara-owner-inditex-s-ceo-bets-on-diversification-ai-for-growth?embedded-checkout=true\">\u00e9\u00e9n van de belangrijkste sterktes<\/a>\u201d van de groep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volgens Garc\u00eda Maceiras verandert retail \u201cabsoluut elke dag\u201d en moet de klant centraal blijven staan: &#8220;We proberen elke dag beter te begrijpen wat klanten willen: het juiste product en de juiste ervaring.&#8221; Inditex ziet vooral kansen in de combinatie van fysieke winkels en onlineverkoop. Terwijl concurrenten winkels afbouwen, blijft de groep investeren in grote flagshipstores in steden als Londen, Rome, New York en Shanghai. \u201cDe sterke prestaties van onze onlineplatformen hangen nauw samen met de operationele ondersteuning van onze fysieke winkels\u201d, aldus Garc\u00eda Maceiras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Digitale avatars en tweedehands<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Tegelijk voert Inditex de investeringen in technologie op. Het concern trok eerder al een investeringsbudget van 2,3 miljard euro uit voor nieuwe winkels, logistiek en technologie. Artifici\u00eble intelligentie krijgt daarin een prominente rol. Zo ontwikkelde Inditex een toepassing waarbij klanten met twee foto\u2019s \u2014 van hun gezicht en lichaam \u2014 een digitale avatar kunnen aanmaken om kleding virtueel te passen. \u201cDie functionaliteit krijgt zeer positieve feedback van klanten\u201d, zegt Garc\u00eda Maceiras, die verwacht dat artifici\u00eble intelligentie de winkelervaring interactiever en persoonlijker maakt, zonder de menselijke factor uit het oog te verliezen. \u201cOnze sector blijft in essentie menselijk.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ook duurzaamheid blijft een speerpunt. Inditex wil tegen 2030 uitsluitend vezels en materialen met een lagere milieu-impact gebruiken en mikt op klimaatneutraliteit tegen 2040. Daarnaast bouwt het concern verder aan zijn tweedehandsplatform voor doorverkoop van kleding.
