Chinese platformen testen die toekomst dagelijks in de praktijk. Die spanning vormt de inzet van Retaillab 2030, een co-creatielab waarin een Europese delegatie en Chinese retailpartners samen concepten ontwikkelen voor de winkel van morgen. Louis Zheng (<strong>FutureMatters<\/strong>) en Maarten Leyts (<strong>Trendwolves<\/strong>) leggen uit waarom net die uitwisseling vandaag urgent wordt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe willen geen klassieke conferentie bouwen waarin de ene partij presenteert en de andere luistert. De waarde ontstaat pas wanneer Europese en Chinese spelers samen aan dezelfde vraagstukken werken\u201d, vertelt Maarten Leyts. Louis Zheng, die vanuit Shanghai meekijkt naar de concrete uitwerking, ziet in het format een kans om de uitwisseling scherper \u00e9n concreter te maken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Retaillab 2030 brengt Europese en Chinese deelnemers samen in gemengde teams. Ze gaan meteen zelf aan de slag rond concrete thema&#8217;s. Elk team moet dus vertrekken van een concrete marktontwikkeling, vervolgens blootleggen waar de Chinese en Europese realiteit verschillen, en daarna een mogelijke samenwerking of nieuw retailconcept formuleren. Leyts: &#8220;Zo krijg je niet enkel een interessante discussie, maar ook een bruikbaar resultaat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">China leeft al in de toekomst<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>De grote aantrekkingskracht van China ligt voor Europese retailers niet langer alleen in schaal of snelheid. Het land toont vooral hoe consumentengedrag verandert wanneer social media, e-commerce, betalingen, logistiek en entertainment in elkaar schuiven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Generatie Z en Alpha, community commerce, live shopping, artifici\u00eble intelligentie in het aankoopproces en de opkomst van consumenten met meerdere digitale identiteiten, zijn gemeenschappelijke vraagstukken&#8221;, ziet Maarten Leyts. Alleen staat China al een pak verder met de antwoorden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We gaan bijvoorbeeld ook aan de slag rond de sandwichgeneratie en hun groeiende levenskwaliteit in China, net als rond ouder worden. Dat is gezien de demografie in China een prioriteit daar en de meerwaarde ligt er ook in de combinatie technologie met traditionele Chinese geneeskunde. Wat kunnen wij daaruit leren en meenemen?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zheng noemt verder onder meer &#8220;experiential retail, omnichannelintegratie, personalisatie, waardegedreven consumptie en duurzame of circulaire levensstijlen&#8221;. \u201cDe Chinese retailmarkt reduceer je te makkelijk tot livestreaming of platformtechnologie. Maar de echte vraag gaat breder: hoe verandert de relatie tussen consument, merk, winkel en community? China biedt daar een extreem rijke leeromgeving voor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Van netwerk naar partnerschap<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Retaillab 2030 wil meer opleveren dan inspirerende notities. Elk team pitcht aan het einde van de sessie \u00e9\u00e9n signaal, \u00e9\u00e9n opportuniteit en \u00e9\u00e9n concrete samenwerking. Die pitches vormen de basis voor een gezamenlijk futuresrapport en voor een persoonlijke presentatie die elke deelnemer mee naar zijn organisatie kan nemen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leyts: \u201cEuropa hoeft China niet simpelweg te kopi\u00ebren. China hoeft Europa niet uit te leggen hoe de toekomst eruitziet. De interessante inzichten ontstaan precies in de spanning tussen beide markten.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Voor Zheng ligt daar ook de praktische waarde. Retaillab 2030 moet niet eindigen in grote woorden over innovatie, maar in concrete acties, nieuwe vragen en duurzame relaties. Of: \u201chet netwerk versterken door er samen aan te bouwen.\u201d Leyts herkent die ambitie. \u201cEen sterk event eindigt niet wanneer de deelnemers de zaal verlaten.
