Toch lijken luxemerken nog altijd niet van plan om gebruik te maken van het grote aantal klanten van het platform.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<h2>Verkeerd imago<\/h2>\n<p>Zo liet Jean-Jacques Guiony, CFO bij <strong>LVMH<\/strong>, enkele dagen geleden nog verstaan dat het luxebedrijf zeker en vast niet van plan is om in zee te gaan met Amazon. Het imago daarvan past niet bij de luxemerken, vindt hij: \u201cAls ze hun businessmodel aanpassen, dan misschien, maar met het huidige businessmodel<a href=\"http:\/\/qz.com\/807419\/is-it-even-possible-to-sell-luxury-on-amazon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> gaan we echt geen zaken met hen doen<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Het grote verschil tussen Amazon en de luxemerken is de manier waarop ze producten aanbieden. Amazon wil zo veel mogelijk klanten bereiken, terwijl de luxemerken een exclusiever karakter willen uitstralen. Het helpt bovendien niet dat Amazon gekend staat voor het strooien met kortingen, iets wat de luxemerken zoveel mogelijk willen vermijden.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Exclusief en toch online<\/h2>\n<p>Die splitsing tussen exclusiviteit en het bereiken van heel wat klanten online, heeft er al voor gezorgd dat heel wat luxemerken pas laat hebben besloten om de stap naar e-commerce te zetten. Toch beginnen meer en meer merken die stap te zetten: Prada verkoopt sinds juli zijn ready-to-wear collectie online en ook Chanel wil nog dit jaar online gaan verkopen.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Andere merken, zoals <strong>Coach <\/strong>en <strong>Michael Kors<\/strong>, durven het wel aan om online te verkopen via Amazon, maar ze doen dat op een zeer bewuste manier. Beide merken verkopen slechts een beperkt aanbod via Amazon en ze kiezen daarbij voor producten uit het goedkopere segment van hun collecties. Ze kiezen dus voor een assortiment dat sowieso al beschikbaar is voor een breder publiek, de rijkere klant moet dus nog steeds naar de winkel afzakken. Het blijft dus de vraag of Amazon in de toekomst er in zal slagen om luxemerken te overtuigen om een breed aanbod via de webshop aan te bieden.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amazon blijft jaar na jaar groeien en wordt naar verwachting volgend jaar de grootste kledingverkoper in de Verenigde Staten.
