De onderliggende groei is vooral te danken aan prijsstijgingen, want de afzetvolumes vertonen een dalende trend.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<h2>Lastig vierde kwartaal<\/h2>\n<p>Unilever zag zijn omzet in het vierde kwartaal afklokken op 13 miljard euro, minder dan de 13,166 miljard euro waar analisten op hadden gerekend. Ook de onderliggende groei kwam lager uit dan verwacht: +2,2% in plaats van de verhoopte +2,8%. Daarvoor moest Unilever de prijzen met 2,6% verhogen, want de afzetvolumes daalden met 0,4%. Dat blijkt uit cijfers die de groep vanochtend bekendmaakte.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Daarmee doet het Brits-Nederlandse concern boven merken als <strong>Dove<\/strong>, <strong>Rexona<\/strong>, <strong>Cif <\/strong>en <strong>Knorr <\/strong>slechter dan in het derde kwartaal, toen het in \u201cuitdagende marktomstandigheden\u201d operationeel een omzetgroei optekende van 3,2% (0,3 procentpunt meer dan de consensus). Vooral de afdeling Refreshments, onder meer bekend van de <strong>Magnum<\/strong>-ijsjes, zag in het vierde kwartaal de afzetvolumes smelten met liefst 3,2%.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hebben opnieuw een goede prestatie geleverd, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unilever.com\/Images\/ir-q4-2016-highlights_tcm244-497534_en.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ondanks stevige economische problemen<\/a>, vooral in India en Brazili\u00eb, onze twee grootste markten\u201d, zegt topman Paul Polman in een toelichting. Toch krijgt het concern ook in Europa flink tegenwind: de afzetvolumes daalden bij ons liefst 2,5%, terwijl de prijsstijging weinig tot niets kon goedmaken.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Jaaromzet 1% lager<\/h2>\n<p>In heel 2016 behaalde Unilever een omzet van 52,7 miljard euro, \u00e9\u00e9n procent minder dan het jaar voordien. Het operationeel resultaat groeide met 3,8% tot 7,8 miljard euro: daarmee groeide Unilever naar eigen zeggen harder dan de markt. Het gros van die groei is het gevolg van prijsstijgingen (+2,8%). De nettowinst klokte over het hele jaar af op 5,5 miljard euro, een stijging van 5,5%.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;De moeilijke marktomstandigheden die het einde van het jaar bijzonder moeilijk maakten, zullen vermoedelijk aanhouden in de eerste helft van 2017.
