Het Zwitserse Nestl\u00e9 <\/strong>wil voor 20 miljard Zwitserse frank (18,3 miljard euro) aan eigen aandelen terugkopen. Dat doet het slechts dagen nadat een nieuwe aandeelhouder het bedrijf daartoe aanmoedigde.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Focus op groeicategorie\u00ebn<\/h2>\n

Bij de aankondiging van het nieuws rond het terugkopen van de aandelen, vernoemde Nestl\u00e9 de naam van de nieuwe aandeelhouder Dan Loeb niet, maar die zou twee weken geleden al hebben samengezeten met CEO Ulf Mark Schneider om de strategie van het bedrijf te bespreken. Hij heeft dus ongetwijfeld invloed gehad op de beslissing van Nestl\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Nestl\u00e9 maakte ook bekend dat het zijn belangrijkste investeringen voortaan zal focussen op belangrijke groeicategorie\u00ebn<\/a>, zoals koffie, dierenzorg, kindervoeding en gezondheidszorg.<\/p>\n

Activist investor<\/h2>\n

Enkele dagen geleden nam de Amerikaanse investeerder een aandeel van 1,3%\u00a0bij Nestl\u00e9, goed voor zowat drie miljard euro. Hij meldde daarbij onmiddellijk dat hij zijn aandeel zal gebruiken om veranderingen door te voeren bij de voedingsproducent, die volgens hem een te sobere cultuur heeft. Loeb staat dan ook bekend als een ‘activistische’ investeerder\u00a0en probeerde ook al zijn idee\u00ebn door te drukken bij bedrijven als Yahoo, Sony en Sotheby\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Zo wil hij nu ook dat Nestl\u00e9 zijn aandeel van 23%\u00a0bij L\u2019Or\u00e9al verkoopt, om zo eigen aandelen terug te kunnen kopen en de winstmarges op te drijven naar 18 tot 20%. Momenteel zitten die op 15%.
