Daar lanceerde het merk een nieuwe campagne op WeChat, wat vooral de online verkoop de hoogte in dreef.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<h2>Sterke online groei China<\/h2>\n<p>De omzet van het Britse Burberry kwam in het eerste kwartaal uit op 478 miljoen pond (535 miljoen euro),\u00a03% meer dan een jaar geleden. Op vergelijkbare basis was er zelfs sprake van een sprong van 4%, maar wisselkoersschommelingen drukten op de resultaten. De cijfers betekenen alvast een goede start voor Marco Gobbetti, die pas sinds deze maand aan het hoofd van het bedrijf staat.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Vooral in China zette Burberry een mooie stap voorwaarts: daar lanceerde Burberry een nieuwe online campagne via de populaire app WeChat. Daardoor verdubbelde in China de online verkoop in het eerste kwartaal ten opzichte van een jaar eerder. De totale omzetgroei in het land kwam zo uit op 5%.\u00a0Ook in het Verenigd Koninkrijk spreekt Burberry van een mooie groei, maar in sommige markten op het vasteland, zoals Itali\u00eb, waren de cijfers minder positief.
