Het voormalige postorderbedrijf wil nu nog verder investeren in start-ups en technologie.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Tweede grootste in Duitsland<\/h2>\n<p>In het gebroken boekjaar tot 28 februari tekende <a href=\"http:\/\/de.fashionnetwork.com\/news\/Otto-Group-steigert-E-Commerce-Umsatze-um-760-Millionen-Euro,955032.html#.Wp7JC2rOWUm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Otto Group een knappe omzetstijging van 10,9%<\/a>\u00a0op, te danken aan e-commerce. De Duitse thuismarkt is nog steeds goed is voor de overgrote meerderheid van de verkoop:\u00a0daar haalde Otto 5,4 miljard euro omzet op, een stijging van 10,2%.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>De groep bevestigt met de cijfers zijn positie als tweede grootste e-commercespeler in Duitsland, na <strong>Amazon<\/strong>. \u201cWe zijn zeer blij met deze dynamische omzetontwikkeling\u201d, geeft bestuursvoorzitter Rainer Hillebrand dan ook toe. Het bewijst volgens hem dat het bedrijf de juiste strategie voert, maar de topman toont zich tegelijk bewust van de scherpe concurrentie.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Focus op augmented reality en digitale assistenten<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cCustomer centricity\u201d moet voor Hillebrand het kernbegrip blijven bij Otto Group, dat vorig jaar 31 miljoen klanten mocht bedienen. Daarbij wil het bedrijf nog meer inzetten op technologie, en dan meer bepaald op &#8216;conversational commerce&#8217;: communicatie en verkoop via digitale assistenten en chatbots. Er is een specifiek team aangesteld om deze services verder uit te bouwen.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ook heeft <strong>Google &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>samen met Otto als enige partner uit de retailsector &#8211; op het Mobile World Congress in Barcelona een <a href=\"http:\/\/www.versandhausberater.de\/blog\/artikel\/article\/mobile-world-congress-otto-launcht-augmented-reality-app.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nieuwe augmented reality-toepassing voorgesteld<\/a>. Met die app voor Otto\u2019s interieurwebshop <strong>yourhome.de<\/strong> kunnen mobiele shoppers meubelen via AR in hun huis presenteren.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf het nu conversational commerce, Internet of Things of datagerichte bedrijfsmodellen zijn, het zwaartepunt ligt op de uitbouw van onze technologische competenties over alle afdelingen van het concern heen\u201d, aldus &#8216;chief digital officer&#8217; Sebastian Klauke.
