In de Benelux staan de volumes nog wel onder druk.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<h2>\nPrijskloof<\/h2>\n<p>De groei van de bestedingen met 4,4% is het gevolg van een volumestijging met 1,8% en een stijging van de prijzen met 2,6%, zo heeft Nielsen berekend op basis van de data van foodretailers in 21 Europese landen. In Belgi\u00eb stegen de prijzen in het vierde kwartaal met 2,1%, terwijl de volumes daalden met 0,3%, wat betekent dat de totale FMCG-markt steeg met + 1,8%. In Nederland stegen de prijzen met 3,2% terwijl de volumes daalden met 0,3%, wat leidde tot een groei met 2,9%.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cDe Belgische FMCG-markt groeide met 1,3% over het hele jaar 2017, wat trager is dan de groei van het bbp, en de volumes daalden licht,\u201d zegt Pedro Lima, Managing Director van Nielsen Benelux. \u201cDe FMCG-prijskloof met de buurlanden is de afgelopen 15 jaar groter geworden ten opzichte van de buurlanden, waardoor grensoverschrijdende concurrentie is ontstaan. Meer dan de helft (57%) van de ondervraagde Belgen zegt dat ze zijn overgestapt op goedkopere merken om te besparen op huishoudelijke uitgaven.\u201d<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Turkije noteerde de sterkste groei (+ 16,8%), gevolgd door Hongarije (+ 8,2%) en Slowakije (+ 7,5%). Daarentegen hadden Zwitserland (+ 1,6%), Finland (+ 1,7%) en Belgi\u00eb (+ 1,8%) de zwakste groei. Het groeipercentage van Spanje (+ 5,3%) was het hoogst van de vijf grootste West-Europese markten, gevolgd door het VK (+ 4,0%), terwijl Frankrijk de laagste groei onder deze groep had (+ 2,8%).<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Sterke lokale merken<\/h2>\n<p>Volgens Nielsen zijn de vooruitzichten positief. \u201cNa een paar moeilijke jaren, zagen we in 2017 een dynamische economische omgeving in Europa met een positief consumentenvertrouwen en recordopbrengsten in verschillende landen,\u201d zegt Olivier Deschamps, Senior Vice President Retailer Services Europe. \u201cDit heeft bijgedragen aan een sterk jaar voor de supermarkten, wat opmerkelijk is als je bedenkt dat consumenten op zoek gaan naar de beste deals en een grotere voorkeur vertonen voor de discounters.\u201d<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEen van de redenen voor deze groei zit \u2018m in de prestaties van lokale merken ten opzichte van de leidende internationale spelers. Ze kapitaliseren op de heropleving van &#8216;lokale trots&#8217; en spelen in op de vraag van consumenten en retailers naar premium, lokale merken. Hier speelt met name de focus op gezondheid en welzijn, met groei voor biologische en additievenvrije producten. Gezondheid is nu een van de twee grootste zorgen van de Europeanen.\u201d<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwee aandachtsgebieden in het bijzonder om op te letten zijn e-commerce en private label.
