De grote merkfabrikanten voelen de hete adem van innovatieve startups in de nek en willen sneller schakelen.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<h2>\nVoedingsindustrie 3.0<\/h2>\n<p>Vorige week schreef RetailDetail al dat grote merken onder druk staan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/nl\/news\/food\/analyse-zes-redenen-waarom-grote-merken-onder-druk-staan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">terwijl kleinere merken wereldwijd groeien<\/a>, onder andere omdat ze vaak dichter bij hun markt staan en sneller reageren op veranderende consumentennoden. Deze week illustreren twee grote merkfabrikanten dat ze het belang van onderzoek en innovatie niet onderschatten. Nestl\u00e9 en Kraft Heinz openen nieuwe innovatiecentra om hun \u2018<em>time to market<\/em>\u2019 te verkorten.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Wel 90 miljoen euro investeert Kraft Heinz in een nieuw \u2018Global Centre of Excellence\u2019 dat opent in Amsterdam. Er zullen ongeveer 450 mensen aan de slag gaan. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.parool.nl\/amsterdam\/kraft-heinz-opent-innovatiecentrum-op-de-zuidas~a4598768\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hier wordt het Kraft Heinz van de toekomst bedacht<\/a>\u201d, verklaart Rafa Oliveira, de Europese topman van de groep, aan Het Parool. \u201cWe gaan op zoek naar nieuwe manieren om te groeien. Met dit centrum willen we de contouren schetsen van de voedingsindustrie 3.0.\u201d Door onderzoek en innovatie op \u00e9\u00e9n plek te centraliseren wil de fabrikant kosten besparen en meer middelen vrijmaken voor producten en marketing. De ligging vlakbij Schiphol moet aantrekkelijk zijn voor internationale talenten.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Relevant blijven<\/h2>\n<p>Ook Nestl\u00e9 wil de ontwikkeling van nieuwe producten versnellen en kondigt daarom aan dat het zijn Nestl\u00e9 Research Center gaat fuseren met het Nestl\u00e9 Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS). De nieuwe organisatie <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-nestle-research\/nestle-streamlines-rd-to-speed-up-product-innovation-idUSKCN1IP0ZT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gaat kortweg Nestl\u00e9 Research heten<\/a> en wordt gebaseerd in Lausanne. Er zullen zo\u2019n 800 mensen aan het werk gaan. De bedoeling is dat wetenschappelijke bevindingen vlugger vertaald worden in commercialiseerbare producten. Het Zwitserse concern kampt al enkele jaren met tragere groei.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGrote trends worden door kleinere ondernemingen wat actiever opgepikt dan door grote bedrijven\u201d, geeft Chief Technology Officer Stefan Palzer aan tegenover Reuters. Hij verwijst daarbij naar trends als biologisch, glutenvrij of vegan. \u201cWij voeren veel innovaties door om onze productportfolio relevant te houden, maar kleinere bedrijven zijn meer wendbaar.\u201d Toch is Nestl\u00e9 volgens hem op de goede weg. Ter illustratie: vorige maand bedacht zijn team tijdens een zakenreis een idee voor een nieuw veganistisch product. \u201cDonderdag kregen we het idee, vrijdag keerden we terug naar Zwitserland, maandagavond kon ik een eerste prototype proeven.
