Opvallend genoeg zijn amper achttien procent van de gezinnen verantwoordelijk voor achtenzeventig procent van de uitgaven aan bio-producten.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>De bio-liefhebbers vinden hun gading <strong>vooral bij de klassieke supermarkten<\/strong>, die bijna vijfenveertig procent van de markt vertegenwoordigen. Toch blijken speciaalzaken een steeds groter aandeel van hen af te snoepen.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Sterke groei in Vlaanderen<\/h2>\n<p>In de periode 2008-2012 groeide het aantal Vlaamse bedrijven die actief zijn binnen de sector met dertig procent. Het totaal aantal biologische landbouwbedrijven bedroeg eind 2012 299, samen goed voor een oppervlakte van bijna vijfduizend hectare of <strong>acht procent meer dan het jaar voordien<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Over die bewuste periode van vijf jaar, <strong>steeg de oppervlakte met niet minder dan eenenveertig procent<\/strong>. Toch betekent dit amper 0,8 procent van de totale Vlaamse landbouwoppervlakte, waarvan 1.316 hectare in omschakeling.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Naar aanleiding van het jaarrapport benadrukte Vlaams minister-president Kris Peeters dat het strategisch akkoord voor de sector, dat in 2008 werd ondertekend, een belangrijke factor is binnen deze positieve evolutie. Naast de Boerenbond, ABS en Bioform, hebben nu ook de <strong>voedingsindustrie en de distributiesector hun schouders onder het nieuwe plan gezet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Bio-boeren niet altijd winnaar<\/h2>\n<p>Ondanks de positieve evolutie en de toegenomen vraag naar bio-producten, zijn het <strong>niet altijd de bio-boeren die dat succes mogen oogsten<\/strong>&#8230; wel integendeel. Ondanks de stijgende vraag naar hun producten, krijgen ze er steeds minder voor betaald, wees een reportage in het programma Login uit.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Oorzaak is dat het bio-succes <strong>een echte bio-business tot stand heeft gebracht<\/strong> en dat massaproductie, hoe contradictorisch ook, ook hier aan de orde is.
