Het online zakenmodel blijkt moeilijk te verzoenen met het DNA van de prijsvechters.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Kostleiderschap<\/h2>\n<p>Discounters zijn groot geworden doordat ze het kosteneffici\u00ebnte zelfbedieningsconcept tot het uiterste hebben geperfectioneerd, maar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retailytics.com\/blog\/online-grocery-the-discounters-achilles-heel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online verliezen de prijsvechters hun kostleiderschap<\/a>, stelt een nieuw rapport van LZ Retailytics. De dingen waarin discounters extreem goed zijn, maken online geen verschil. In een webshop telt de omzet per vierkante meter of per werkuur niet. Online is de \u2018<em>long tail<\/em>\u2019 een troef, terwijl discounters offline nu net scoren met een erg beperkt assortiment. Thuisbezorgen is het tegenovergestelde van zelfbediening. Food online verkopen is voor de discounters dan ook zowat de kwadratuur van de cirkel.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Voor mainstream retailers ligt dat anders: zij kunnen de samenstelling van het online winkelmandje be\u00efnvloeden met hun gesofisticeerde aanbod, ze kunnen spelen met het prijsniveau of kosten aanrekenen voor specifieke voordelen \u2013 iets wat spelers als Aldi en Lidl zich moeilijker kunnen permitteren. Op die manier kan online een wapen worden voor supermarkten, om marktaandeel terug te winnen van de harddiscounters.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>De analyse ziet wel een mogelijke uitweg uit het dilemma: als discounters een beroep doen op externe bezorgdiensten, dan kunnen ze hun goedkope prijsimago intact houden. In de perceptie van de shopper is het dan immers de bezorgdienst die extra kosten aanrekent en een minimum bestelbedrag oplegt.
