Bijna 5% van de 50 miljard euro omzet komt zo al van onlineverkoop, in al zijn vormen.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>E-commerce prioriteit in topmarkten<\/h2>\n<p>E-commerce was in 2018 goed voor 2,49 miljard euro omzet bij FMCG-producent Unilever, oftewel 4,9% van de in totaal ruim 50 miljard euro omzet. Een jaar eerder was dat nog 3,3% van de totale omzet van 53,71 miljard euro. Het gaat dan wel om alle soorten onlineverkoop: direct aan de consument (B2C), business-to-business (B2B) en B2B2C.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>De producent van merken als <strong>Dove<\/strong>, <strong>Becel<\/strong> en <strong>Lipton<\/strong> blijft ook in de toekomst sterk investeren in e-commerce, zegt CEO Alan Jope in het onlangs gepubliceerde jaarverslag. Unilever groeit online naar eigen zeggen sneller dan de globale e-commercemarkt en is \u201cgoed op weg om een e-commercebusiness op schaal\u201d te bouwen.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Unilever werkt daarbij vooral samen met marktplaatsen, zoals <strong>Amazon<\/strong> en <strong>Alibaba<\/strong>-dochter Taobao in China, als onderdeel van een wereldwijde strategie. In China is e-commerce zelfs al goed voor meer dan 20% van de totale omzet. Voor de dertig topmarkten van het bedrijf blijft e-commerce dan ook een prioriteit, aldus Jope.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>\u201cVersnippering van traditionele routes\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>De topman hoopt een gebalanceerd e-commercebedrijfsmodel uit te bouwen, dat groeit via onlineretailers, onlineverkoop in fysieke winkels en direct-to-consumermodellen. Op die manier wil hij immers \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalcommerce360.com\/2019\/05\/01\/unilever-grew-global-ecommerce-nearly-50-in-2018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reageren op de snelle versnippering van traditionele routes<\/a> naar de markt\u201d, zo bericht Digital Commerce 360.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Om die digitalisering te ondersteunen, neemt de multinational ook nieuwe mensen in dienst met ervaring in de branche. Zo is een ex-verantwoordelijke voor FMCG bij Amazon, Sunny Jain, recent aangesteld als hoofd van de businessunit schoonheid en persoonlijke verzorging.
