Retailers en fabrikanten zullen sterker moeten inzetten op marketingacties en promoties, om de vraag op peil te houden.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Inflatiedruk<\/h2>\n<p>In het tweede kwartaal van 2019 hebben Europese consumenten 3,4% meer besteed aan hun dagelijkse boodschappen. Dat is een stijging van 0,9% vergeleken met het eerste kwartaal en goed nieuws na drie opeenvolgende kwartalen van matige groei. De volumes stegen met 0,5% in het tweede kwartaal, terwijl er in het eerste kwartaal nog een daling was van 0,5%. Maar dit is voornamelijk een kalendereffect: de paasperiode viel dit jaar immers in het tweede kwartaal. Toenemende inflatie heeft ertoe geleid dat consumenten per product 2,9% meer hebben betaald dan in hetzelfde kwartaal van vorig jaar.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;De jaarlijkse inflatie in de eurozone bedraagt 1%, bijna het laagste niveau in drie jaar, omdat de energieprijsinflatie afneemt&#8221;, zegt Johan Vrancken, Managing Director Nielsen Benelux. &#8220;Maar nu de prijzen van voedingsmiddelen, alcohol en tabak en diensten sneller stijgen, verwachten we een inflatoire druk op het koopgedrag. De prijzen zullen naar onze mening de komende jaren verder stijgen. Fabrikanten en retailers moeten zich afvragen wat de gevolgen hiervan zijn voor de consumentenbestedingen en de keuze voor merken bij het nemen van hun aankoopbeslissingen. Ze zullen de vraag moeten stimuleren door een effectieve promotie- en marketingstrategie, want \u00a0consumenten zullen voorzichtig zijn met hun uitgaven over de categorie\u00ebn heen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Cijfers per land<\/h2>\n<p>Turkije vertoont nog steeds de hoogste jaar-op-jaar groei (+19,4%), mede dankzij de inflatie, maar er is een daling van de volumegroei, die in het tweede kwartaal van 2019 negatief is (-5,4%). Andere landen met een hoge groei zijn Hongarije (+7,7%), Polen (+7,1%), Tsjechi\u00eb (+6,6%), Slowakije (+4,6%) en Portugal (+4,2%). Finland daarentegen (0,3%) kende de kleinste groei. Belgi\u00eb staat op de 17e plaats van de 28 landen, met een nominale groei van 1%.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bij de vijf grootste Europese landen stond Itali\u00eb bovenaan met de hoogste FMCG-groei (+4%) in het tweede kwartaal van 2019, gevolgd door Duitsland (2,4%) en Spanje (2,3%), terwijl Frankrijk en het Verenigd Koninkrijk in het tweede kwartaal van 2019 respectievelijk 1,3% en 0,7% FMCG-groei lieten optekenen.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"infogram-embed\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"infogram-embed\">\u00a0<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Consumenten hebben het afgelopen kwartaal meer geld uitgegeven voor hun boodschappen, omdat de prijzen stijgen.
