Met het nieuwe uithangbord Intermarch\u00e9 Express mikken de musketiers op de stadscentra.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<h2>\nUitbreidingen en renovaties<\/h2>\n<p>In de eerste helft van het jaar kwamen er in Walloni\u00eb <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/nl\/news\/food\/intermarch%C3%A9-zet-expansie-walloni%C3%AB-verder\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">twee vestigingen bij van Intermarch\u00e9<\/a>, waardoor de keten nu 78\u00a0supermarkten telt in het zuidelijke gedeelte van Belgi\u00eb. Die zijn vooral ingeplant in landelijke gebieden en aan de stadsrand. De supermarktketen is een\u00a0bescheiden speler binnen de Belgische distributie (2,2% marktaandeel volgens Nielsen), maar slaagde er wel in om zijn omzet afgelopen jaar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/nl\/news\/food\/mooie-omzetgroei-voor-intermarch%C3%A9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">met 7,5% te doen stijgen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Die groei komt ook van uitbreidingen en renovaties. &#8220;Met zeven tot acht verbouwingen per jaar <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lsa-conso.fr\/le-plan-d-intermarche-pour-grandir-en-belgique,326961\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">zal de helft van ons winkelparkpark gerenoveerd en uitgebreid zijn in 2022<\/a>, met bijna 20.000 m\u00b2 extra winkelruimte&#8221;, zegt Alain Boulle, president van Intermarch\u00e9 Belgi\u00eb, aan LSA.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Klemtoon op vers<\/h2>\n<p>Een goed voorbeeld van de gevolgde strategie is de winkel van Martin Staelens in Hannuit. Die werd al twee keer gerenoveerd en uitgebreid, waardoor zijn winkeloppervlakte toenam tot 2750 m\u00b2. Hij richt zich nu vooral op zelfbediening en verse producten, die ter plaatse verwerkt worden. Begin volgend jaar volgt een nieuwe uitbreiding met 300m\u00b2, waarna de versafdeling bijna de helft van de winkeloppervlakte in beslag zal nemen.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>De vloeroppervlakte bestemd voor groenten en fruit nam al met 30% toe.\u00a0Er zijn met succes sushi-eilanden en cateringstands ge\u00efntegreerd. Die catering, en meer bepaald de mogelijkheid om gerechten ter plaatse te consumeren, zal in de toekomst nog belangrijker worden, zeker in de grootste winkels van de supermarktketen. Een en ander heeft tot gevolg dat de traditionele winkelrekken bijna verdwenen zijn in\u00a0de winkel.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Vlees en charcuterie worden in een ruime werkplaats met grote ramen versneden en verpakt. \u201cIk wilde dat de klant te\u00a0allen tijde zou zien hoe de werknemers werken met de producten die wij verkopen&#8221;, benadrukt Staelens. Met die &#8216;openheid&#8221; &#8211; die ook de visafdeling kenmerkt &#8211; wil Staelens het vakmanschap en de knowhow van zijn personeel extra in de verf zetten.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<h2>Non-food bijkomstig<\/h2>\n<p>Voor non-food is er bij Intermarch\u00e9\u00a0nauwelijks nog plaats. Die markt is toch al lang veroverd door specialisten zoals <strong>Kruidvat, Blokker <\/strong>en <strong>Casa<\/strong> en prijsvechters zoals\u00a0<strong>Action<\/strong>, weet Alain Boulle. \u201cNu, met al die specialisten rond ons, verminderen we het assortiment in textiel, onderhoud, parfumerie of briefpapier, ten gunste van biovoeding en ter plaatse bereide verse producten&#8221;, verzekert hij.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bovenop de uitbreidingsgolf die in 2014 begon dromen de &#8216;Musketiers&#8217; ervan om ook de stadscentra te veroveren via een nieuw merk, Intermarch\u00e9 Express. Maar het zal niet evident zijn om een plaats af te dwingen in een markt die gedomineerd wordt door grote spelers als <strong>Colruyt<\/strong>, <strong>Carrefour<\/strong> en <strong>Delhaize<\/strong>.
