Toch was het een beter dan verwacht derde kwartaal.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Kokoswater dooft uit<\/h2>\n<p>Coca-Cola trekt de stekker uit zowat de helft van zijn merken: minder populaire producten, zoals Zico-kokoswater, gaan een uitdoofscenario tegemoet. En daar heeft de coronapandemie veel mee te maken: normaal gezien haalt de frisdrankmaker de helft van zijn omzet uit de buitenshuisverkoop \u2013 horeca en evenementen \u2013 maar net die sector heeft het meest te lijden onder de maatregelen.<\/p>\n<p>\nCEO James Quincey blijft de situatie ook in de toekomst somber inschatten: de topman bereidt zich voor op nog meer lokale lockdowns en sluitingen, zoals die nu al te zien zijn. Daarom durft hij ook geen financiele voorspellingen te doen voor de rest van het jaar. Het bedrijf zegt wel op het juiste pad te zitten met zijn huidige transformatieplannen.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Het voorbije derde kwartaal vormde weliswaar een lichtpuntje: de omzet daalde deze zomer \u2018slechts\u2019 met 9%, om uit te komen op 8,7 miljard dollar (7,35 miljard euro). Hoewel de verkopen in alle regio\u2019s zakten ten opzichte van vorig jaar, was dat een betere prestatie dan analisten hadden verwacht. In het tweede kwartaal verkocht Coca-Cola nog 28% minder. Positief was ook dat de verkoop voor thuisconsumptie steeg.
