De digitalisering mag wat topvrouw Marit van Egmond betreft nog sneller gaan: weg met de kassa\u2019s en welkom verregaande personalisatie.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Zelfscankassa\u2019s ook al pass\u00e9<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cIk zie niet in waarom we <a href=\"https:\/\/www.volkskrant.nl\/economie\/albert-heijn-topvrouw-weet-het-zeker-de-kassa-heeft-zijn-langste-tijd-gehad~b63bc5e4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vast moeten houden aan een lopende band<\/a> met een medewerker aan het einde\u201d, windt Marit van Egmond, sinds 2019 CEO van Albert Heijn, er geen doekjes om. De innovatie en digitalisering van de foodretail gaat volgens haar te langzaam, eerder dan te snel. \u201cAls je ziet hoeveel mensen nu thuis digitaal bankieren, dan denk ik: die kunnen toch ook digitaal boodschappen doen\u201d, aldus Van Egmond tegenover De Volkskrant.<\/p>\n<p>\nKassa\u2019s zijn binnenkort dan ook voltooid verleden tijd: het betaalproces is nu al ongezien snel aan het digitaliseren, met dank aan de coronapandemie. 60% van de transacties gebeurt nu al via zelfscan, maar zelfs zelfscankassa\u2019s zijn binnenkort overbodig. Mensen willen sinds Covid-19 contactloos betalen, gericht hun boodschappen doen en richten zich tot online. Vandaag heeft de mobiele app van Albert Heijn 1,8 miljoen gebruikers per week, begin 2019 (bij het aantreden van de nieuwe CEO) waren dat er nog maar 200.000. Ook ouderen gingen inmiddels massaal overstag.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Klant nog beter kennen<\/h2>\n<p>Die veranderingen zullen blijvend zijn, meent Van Egmond. En dat komt goed uit, want AH noemt zich geen supermarktketen meer, maar een \u201cfoodtechbedrijf\u201d, \u201cmet liefde voor voedsel maar zeker ook voor technologie\u201d. Het bedrijf heeft al 500 technologiemedewerkers, en daar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.distrifood.nl\/formules\/video\/2020\/11\/interview-marit-van-egmond-over-tech-en-supermarkt-101140221\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kunnen er nog zeker 200 bij<\/a>, zegt ze ook aan Distrifood.<\/p>\n<p>\nAlbert Heijn gelooft in een Amazon-achtige toekomst: kassaloze supermarkten waar je gewoon binnen en buiten loopt, terwijl het afrekenen automatisch gebeurt. Daar hoort dan ook verregaande datakennis en personalisatie bij. \u201cIn de toekomst stel ik mij voor dat wij de klant steeds beter kennen\u201d, aldus de topvrouw: \u201cZodat we weten wat zijn voorkeuren zijn.\u201d De retailer wil online \u201calvast dingen klaar kunnen zetten\u201d, via de smartphone in de winkel de weg wijzen, klanten waarschuwen voor hun allergie\u00ebn en advies op maat geven, zoals bij \u201ceen stuk vlees een bijpassende wijn suggereren\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Een miljard euro online<\/h2>\n<p>Die innovatie is noodzakelijk, want uitdagers <strong>Jumbo <\/strong>en onlinesupermarkt <strong>Picnic <\/strong>zitten de Nederlandse marktleider op de hielen. Als antwoord op die laatste lanceerde Albert Heijn in Haarlem een test met AH Compact, een gratis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/nl\/news\/food\/albert-heijn-test-bezorgdienst-voor-kleine-gezinnen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">leverdienst met een beperkt assortiment<\/a>. De proef blijkt een succes te zijn en zal verder worden uitgerold.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\nNochtans zal AH dit jaar online de kaap van een miljard euro omzet ronden, wat de keten in Nederland de grootste onlineverkoper van food maakt. In Belgi\u00eb wil de retailer e-commerce zelfs gaan gebruiken als expansiemiddel, om locaties te bereiken waar nog geen fysieke winkels zijn.
