{"id":45940,"date":"2021-01-14T08:32:13","date_gmt":"2021-01-14T08:32:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/food\/unilever-expects-improvements-second-half-year\/"},"modified":"2021-01-14T08:32:13","modified_gmt":"2021-01-14T08:32:13","slug":"unilever-expects-improvements-second-half-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/nl\/news\/food\/unilever-expects-improvements-second-half-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Unilever verwacht beterschap in tweede jaarhelft"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Unilever<\/strong>-CEO Alan Jope denkt dat de wereldwijde consumptie nog een tijdje zal slabakken, ondanks tekenen van beterschap in onder meer Oost-Azi\u00eb en Latijns-Amerika.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Onzekerheid blijft<\/h2>\n<p>Jope deed zijn uitspraken gisteren in een <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/idUSKBN29I1V8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview met Reuters<\/a>. &#8220;We zijn nog steeds van mening dat de eerste helft van dit jaar een aanhoudende periode van onderdrukte consumptie zal zijn.\u201d De topman verwacht wel dat de vraag weer zal aantrekken in de tweede helft van het jaar en vooral in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Door de grote onzekerheid die de pandemie met zich meebrengt, houdt Jope zich op de vlakte als het gaat over groeidoelstellingen. \u201cWe verwachten geen grote tegenvallers vanuit margeperspectief, maar ik wil niet verder ingaan op de cijfers, totdat de zaken wereldwijd een beetje stabiliseren&#8221;, zei hij.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Lichtpunten<\/h2>\n<p>Unilever heeft door de pandemie kunnen profiteren van de stijgende vraag naar voorverpakte voeding. Langs de andere kant zag het bedrijf de verkoop van voedsel op openbare plaatsen, zoals op stranden en in restaurants, kelderen. Jope ziet ondanks alles ook tekenen van herstel, met name in Signapore en China, waar de zaken zich stilaan normaliseren. Verder tonen ook de Afrikaanse en Latijns-Amerikaanse consumentenmarkten een sterke veerkracht.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Unilever wil zich in de nabije toekomst blijven concentreren op de hervorming van zijn portefeuille, maar dat zal niet meteen tot omvangrijke desinvesteringen leiden. Mogelijk worden enkele kleinere merken in de divisie schoonheid en persoonlijke verzorging van de hand gedaan, maar dat zal een minimale impact hebben, verzekerde de
