Daardoor krijgen ze meer middelen om te groeien.<\/p>\n<p><!--break--><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Nieuwe investeringen<\/h2>\n<p>In de jaren \u201980 van de vorige eeuw produceerde Rodenbach 180.000 hectoliter bier. Daarna ging het bergaf met het merk en anno 2016 bleef er nog amper 31.000 hectoliter over. De voorbije jaren is er evenwel opnieuw groei, vooral omdat er weer ge\u00efnvesteerd wordt in het merk uit Roeselare.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Volgens Sven Stuer, CEO van Swinkels Belgi\u00eb, heeft Rodenbach nog veel meer potentieel, vooral buiten de provincies Oost- en West-Vlaanderen, waar het bier nog steeds erg populair is. \u201cIn 2017 lanceerden we daarom de <strong>Rodenbach Fruitage<\/strong>, een fruitige toegankelijke variant met een lager alcoholpercentage van 3,9%. We beslisten ook opnieuw meer in het merk te investeren, onder meer door het tv-programma \u2018De Mol\u2019 te sponsoren. Binnenkort <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tijd.be\/ondernemen\/voeding-drank\/rodenbach-brugge-tripel-en-cornet-worden-global-brands\/10312762.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">leunt het merk opnieuw tegen 50.000 hectoliter aan<\/a>\u201d, zegt hij in De Tijd.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>De nieuwe Fruitage werd vorig jaar ook in Nederland ge\u00efntroduceerd, maar door corona liepen de ambitieuze plannen wel vertraging op. Het bier is dankzij de kracht van Swinkels alomtegenwoordig in de horecazaken en de winkels. Als de Fruitage doorbreekt, kan dat ook positief zijn voor de klassieke Rodenbach-versies, stelt Stuer. \u201cBinnen een jaar of twee kijken we of de mayonaise pakt. Swinkels heeft in elk geval beslist Rodenbach, samen met Cornet en Brugge Tripel, tot global brands van de groep te promoveren. Daar horen meer middelen bij.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Jubileum<\/h2>\n<p>Rodenbach bestaat dit jaar overigens 200 jaar. Ter gelegenheid van die verjaardag komt er onder meer een boek over de rijke historie van het merk en in het najaar lanceert de brouwerij een compleet nieuwe versie van het bier. \u201cEen die sterk afwijkt van alle huidige Rodenbachs, maar toch herkenbaar is\u201d, voegt directeur Rudi Ghequire\u00a0toe. Daarnaast wil het merk ook meer toeristen aantrekken. \u201cVoor corona verwelkomden we 35.000 bezoekers per jaar. Dat kunnen er een pak meer worden\u201d, zegt Stuer.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Naast Rodenbach heeft Swinkels grote plannen met Cornet en Brugge Tripel. Cornet is het zelfs het snelst groeiende Belgische bier in ons land en ook in Nederland loopt de verkoop erg goed. Het succesvolle bier is sinds vorig jaar ook van het vat verkrijgbaar. &#8220;Belgen drinken nog altijd graag vatenbier, wat extra groei oplevert\u201d, aldus Ghequire.
