Dat &#8216;douceurtje&#8217; buiten beschouwing gelaten, blijft er echter<strong> slechts 786 miljoen euro aan nettowinst over. Dat is ruim 14 procent lager<\/strong> dan de nettowinst in 2012, die op 915 miljoen euro uitkwam.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Een teleurstellend resultaat, dat Ahold boekt op een <strong>jaaromzet die met 32,6 miljard euro een fractie (0,2 procent) onder de omzet van 2012 lag<\/strong>. De operationele winst was met 1,38 miljard euro 2,3 procent lager en de operationele marge was met 4,2 procent nagenoeg gelijk aan de marge over 2012, die op 4,3 procent uitkwam.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Deze jaarresultaten zijn <strong>sterk be\u00efnvloed door tegenvallende prestaties, met name in het vierde kwartaal<\/strong>. In de laatste drie maanden van 2013 daalde de netto-omzet met 4,2 procent, met name door afnemende identieke verkopen bij Ahold USA, die met 2,1 procent daalden. In Nederland daalde de identieke groei in het vierde kwartaal met 1 procent, vooral omdat de <strong>gemiddelde besteding per klant bij Albert Heijn onder druk<\/strong> staat.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Verkoop van ICA doet pijn<\/h2>\n<p>De operationele kwartaalwinst daalde van 355 miljoen euro in het vierde kwartaal van 2012 naar 320 miljoen euro in hetzelfde kwartaal vorig jaar, wat een afname van bijna tien procent betekent. Debet hieraan zijn volgens Ahold een <strong>aanzienlijke toename van kosten voor het pensioenfonds en een negatief koerseffect vanwege de zwakkere Amerikaanse dollar<\/strong>. Bij gelijkblijvende wisselkoersen ligt het winstniveau desalniettemin nog altijd 7,5 procent onder het niveau van Q4 in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>De <strong>nettokwartaalwinst lag met 215 miljoen euro 25 miljoen euro lager <\/strong>dan in dezelfde periode een jaar eerder,<strong> een afname van 10,4 procent<\/strong> of 8,2 procent bij gelijkblijvende wisselkoersen. Hier doet met name de verkoop van ICA pijn, want de voormalige Scandinavische joint-venturedochter droeg in het vierde kwartaal van 2012 nog 59 miljoen euro bij aan de nettowinst.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Oog voor kosten en baten<\/h2>\n<p>Net zoals in 2013 zal <strong>2014 voor Ahold mede in het teken staan van &#8216;simplicity&#8217;<\/strong>. Dit constante proces van besparingen, waarbij Ahold de kosten met 600 miljoen euro wil verlagen, is sinds de introductie van &#8216;Reshaping Retail @ Ahold&#8217; tot strategische pijler verworden. Van de vooropgestelde besparing van 600 miljoen euro heeft Ahold inmiddels 485 miljoen euro gerealiseerd, wat <strong>van groot belang is om de operationele marge overeind te houden<\/strong> in moeilijke tijden.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Naast kosten, kijkt Ahold uiteraard ook naar de opbrengsten. Zo investeert het bijvoorbeeld in de uitrol van Albert Heijn in Belgi\u00eb, maar ook in de uitbouw van de &#8216;online supply chain&#8217;. Ahold zit immers duidelijk in de <strong>transitie naar een omnichanneltoekomst<\/strong>: de omzet van Peapod, bol.com en AH.nl bedroeg in 2013 1,1 miljard euro. <strong>Online realiseerde daarmee een identieke omzetgroei van bijna 17 procent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Omnichannel is cruciaal voor Ahold<\/h2>\n<p>Met name in de VS zal Ahold aan de &#8216;online supply chain&#8217; bouwen, door het aantal pick-up points op te voeren van zo&#8217;n 100 nu tot ruim 200 aan het eind van dit jaar, evenals door de ingebruikname van een <strong>gloednieuw en volledig geautomatiseerd distributiecentrum voor &#8216;e-fulfilment&#8217; in New Jersey<\/strong>, waarmee Ahold met name de New Yorkse regio wil bedienen.
