{"id":58497,"date":"2022-06-24T17:14:37","date_gmt":"2022-06-24T15:14:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/?p=58497"},"modified":"2022-12-27T10:10:55","modified_gmt":"2022-12-27T09:10:55","slug":"hoe-retailallianties-leiden-tot-lagere-consumentenprijzen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/nl\/news\/food\/hoe-retailallianties-leiden-tot-lagere-consumentenprijzen\/","title":{"rendered":"Hoe retailallianties leiden tot lagere consumentenprijzen"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Nieuw onderzoek bewijst dat inkoopgroeperingen wel degelijk leiden tot lagere prijzen voor consumenten: klanten van de Duitse supermarktketen <strong>Edeka<\/strong> betaalden gemiddeld 12% minder voor producten die de retailer inkocht via retailalliantie <strong>AgeCore<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Controversi\u00eble allianties<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Internationale inkoopallianties van Europese foodretailers zijn controversieel: volgens sommige merkfabrikanten dienen ze louter om de winstmarges van de betrokken retailers te verhogen, en voegen ze enkel kosten toe aan de bevoorradingsketen. Volgens retailers echter zijn allianties een noodzaak om een gelijker speelveld te cre\u00ebren in de onderhandelingen met multinationals, en leiden ze tot lagere verkoopprijzen in de winkels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Veel empirisch bewijs voor die stelling was er tot nu toe niet. Een zopas gepubliceerd onderzoek door professor Marcel Corstjens van businesschool INSEAD brengt daar verandering in. De studie, getiteld <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.insead.edu\/faculty-research\/publications\/working-papers\/international-retail-buying-groups-a-force-for-the-good-the-case-of-agecore-edeka-41961\">International Retail Buying Groups: A Force for the Good? The case of AgeCore\/EDEKA<\/a><\/em>, gaat na of het lidmaatschap van de Duitse marktleider EDEKA van de internationale inkoopalliantie AgeCore tot lagere consumentenprijzen heeft geleid als gevolg van betere inkoopvoorwaarden (<em>intussen heeft EDEKA de alliantie verlaten, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/nl\/news\/food\/edeka-launches-international-purchasing-alliance-epic-partners\/\">om de nieuwe inkoopgroepering Epic Partners op te richten<\/a>, nvdr<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gemiddeld 12% lagere prijzen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Het onderzoek vergelijkt de winkelprijzen voor producten die door AgeCore werden onderhandeld, met de prijzen voor producten die buiten de onderhandelingen vielen. Geen half werk: de studie omvat in totaal meer dan zes miljoen scannerdata voor 138.000 <em>stock-keeping units<\/em> (SKU&#8217;s) uit twintig foodcategorie\u00ebn op basis van maandelijkse waarnemingen gedurende een periode van zes jaar. De methode werd verfijnd in functie van omzet en productcategorie, om ongewenste overschattingen te vermijden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wat blijkt? De gemiddelde maandelijkse consumentenprijzen voor SKU&#8217;s in een specifieke productcategorie die door AgeCore werden onderhandeld, zijn gemiddeld 12% lager dan die van vergelijkbare SKU&#8217;s die buiten de AgeCore-negotiaties vallen. Het effect varieert van -36% in de categorie diepvriesproducten tot -6% voor snacks. In enkele categorie\u00ebn \u2013 dranken, bijvoorbeeld \u2013 zijn de AgeCore-prijzen hoger. Slechts drie productcategorie\u00ebn vertonen geen statistisch significant effect: bakkerijproducten, plantaardige zuivelproducten en delicatessen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201cDoorsijpeleffect\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>De resultaten van deze studie zijn in lijn met eerdere studies over het effect van inkoopcombinaties. In 2019 wees onderzoek uit dat flessenwater in Frankrijk 7% goedkoper werd als gevolg van onderhandelingen door drie nationale inkoopgroeperingen. En een onderzoek uit 2020 naar de alliantie tussen Metro en Auchan wees op een reductie van de consumentenprijzen met 5% tot 7% &#8211; ook in Frankrijk. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deze nieuwe studie is veruit de meest uitgebreide in zijn soort. Ook al is er meer onderzoek nodig naar factoren die mogelijk uitzonderingen veroorzaken in enkele categorie\u00ebn, \u201clijkt het redelijk om te stellen dat internationale inkoopcombinaties van retailers inderdaad bijdragen tot meer concurrentie en gelijke concurrentievoorwaarden bij onderhandelingen tussen (overwegend) nationale foodretailers en multinationale merkfabrikanten, en dat die betere inkoopvoorwaarden, via een &#8220;doorsijpeleffect&#8221;, resulteren in lagere gemiddelde consumentenprijzen\u201d, zo concludeert de
