Ook de investeringen blijven hoog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sterke omzetgroei<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Recent publiceerde Lidl de financi\u00eble resultaten van zijn internationale activiteiten, ondergebracht in de vennootschap Lidl Stiftung &amp; Co KG, voor het gebroken boekjaar 2022-2023, dat eindigde in februari&nbsp;2023. Die bedrijfseenheid vertegenwoordigt goed 70% van de totale omzet van de discountketen. Analisten van Barclays doken dieper in de cijfers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eerste vaststelling: de omzet groeide boven verwachting. Lidl had vorig jaar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildetail.be\/nl\/news\/food\/internationale-groei-lidl-vertraagt-maar-marges-blijven-op-peil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">een \u201cgematigde omzetgroei\u201d in het vooruitzicht gesteld<\/a>, maar een stijging met&nbsp;22,6% naar 81,8&nbsp;miljard euro kan je moeilijk gematigd noemen. De sterkste groei sinds&nbsp;2012 is te danken aan de voedselinflatie, marktaandeelwinst en nieuwe winkelopeningen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prijsinvesteringen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Er is echter een keerzijde: de winstgevendheid daalde naar het laagste niveau sinds&nbsp;2012. De EBIT van Lidl International daalde met&nbsp;6,6% naar 2,6&nbsp;miljard euro, wat een margekrimp van 250&nbsp;basispunten naar&nbsp;2,3% impliceert. Dat is deels te wijten aan prijsinvesteringen: de retailer rekent niet alle kostenstijgingen door om competitief te blijven. Bovendien daalde de non-foodomzet en steeg de schuldenlast door hoge investeringen bij een stijgende rentevoet. De nettowinst daalde zelfs met&nbsp;23%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Het boekjaar werd gekenmerkt door een stijging van de investeringen met 14% tot 5,2 miljard euro, waarvan 3,6 miljard in vastgoed. Dat is het hoogste niveau sinds 2016. In maart 2022 opende de keten zijn eerste acht winkels in Estland, maar in verschillende andere landen vertraagde Lidl de expansie, om meer middelen te kunnen investeren in prijsverlagingen. Dat was bijvoorbeeld het geval in Frankrijk, Spanje en in de VS, waar de retailer zes jaar na de start nog steeds geen 200 winkels heeft, ver onder de oorspronkelijke ambities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hoge productiviteit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>De personeelskosten houdt Lidl w\u00e9l stevig onder controle: die bedragen slechts 8,4% van de omzet, wat sterk is vergeleken met andere retailers, en ook het laagste niveau sinds&nbsp;2012. Bovendien stijgt de productiviteit: de omzet per FTE steeg met&nbsp;12,6% naar 446.000&nbsp;euro per jaar. Anderzijds kampt de retailer met de kost van hoge non-foodvoorraden als gevolg van zwakke verkopen, die wellicht te wijten zijn aan een consument die bezuinigt in tijden van inflatie en dalende koopkracht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In zijn vooruitzichten blijft de groep erg voorzichtig: een gematigde groei en een stabiele nettowinst, met een slag om de arm omwille van grote onzekerheden op het vlak van inflatie, beschikbaarheid van goederen, intrestvoeten en consumentengedrag. Op expansievlak maakt Lidl zich wel op om zijn intrede te maken in de Balkanlanden Bosni\u00eb en Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro en Noord-Macedoni\u00eb. De retailer rolt ook zijn non-food webshop verder uit (vorig jaar ging die in Frankrijk van start).
